I have come to the conclusion that you are all mad,me too..........take a look ,136 pages ,waffling on about a winter that has not happened, most people bigging it up to the worst winter of all time...[maybe not],yet we have not had a flake of snow or even an air frost, probably end up being mild!

like i said, it doesn't mean all his forecasts will be right. i'm sure he doesn't claim they will be but this was really aimed at those who have rubbished his winter forecast. you never know, maybe he was right about winter back then...

Absolutely and I do rate RJS's forecasts highly and always have done.  However, like you say I do hope that he was right about Winter in July rather than now!

How many other winters have you had a flake by the 19th October though?

There's a few on here who are going for mild too. 136 pages is a lot, something to keep us all talking about I suppose.

Yeah precisely why I wanted to see uppers chart. The chart posted first off can look deceiving. Milder Atlantic air closeby and uppers marginal for many of the UK for snow if precipitation around.

Good job it's over two months away aye ;)

TBH anyway, I couldn't give a onions about weather for any specific day, I am more bothered about whether we will get blasted at some point.

I do remember I think it was either 1998 or could have been 1999,that was the first year I remember that we hadn't had any snow by xmas...seemed strange and I am 45 so I remember them all since the mid 70s

The fact that he forgot to mention how his record breaking cold of last winter didn't materialise speaks volumes. Still his forecast ( wild guess ) isn't bust yet so we'll give him the benefit of doubt for now, LOL!

Completely irrelevant wrt to what will probably transpire for xmas day but that chart above from conor is potentially very snowy for the uk, given the flow being of continental origin. You dont need very low uppers if you have continental sourced air.
