Blue sky and sunshine minutes ago to darkness overhead and heavy rain, which actually sounds like hail landing

Sunny, light shower, followed by more sunshine before heavier shower, only thing stayed constant is the wind speed, cool NW flow. Yuck!

Hey Coast, was there Friday evening and left sunday afternoon. Weather throughout wasn't great for balloons, but there were small windows where we could tether, glow & hop across the airfield. Have posted a few photos on the other thread, Attached a few here too Posted Image

Glad you enjoyed the Air Show, i thought it was well attended due to weather and plenty of other things happening!

Could have bought you a coffee and a bacon roll!

Weather wasn't too bad considering the previous days forecasts and it was a last minute decision on Sunday morning to go. Nice (and unexpected)  to get the roof down and I braved it in shorts and tee shirt until about 3.00pm when the weather said go home!

Haha, we were on sight at 5;30am and was 4.6c. Chilly! I had 4 layers on, but by 9am the mist burned off, and was plesantly warmer!

Nothing heard here Chloe, promising looking skies though and we have had a few sharp showers throughout the day.

Good luck to the Captain, in a similar situation myself and it sucks the life from you.

By the way I am travelling up through the TOD on Friday for a long weekend at Pinewoods Caravan Park at Wells Next Sea. We always travel on a lovely route from Chelmo up to Braintree, across to Halstead/Subury/ Bury St Edmunds/ Thetford Forest and Swatham. Are we likely to encounter any interesting weather?Kind RegardsDave

I doubt there'll be exciting weather, but, from my chart reading, there could be some good photography weather - early Autumn mist and nice sunshine. :)

Evening all. Well a day of two halfs here. Beautiful sun and blues skies, this morning, but very chilly. Replaced around late morning by grey cloudy skies. Then come the afternoon sunshine blustery wind and heavy showers. Clear as anything now, with still a stiff breeze and a temp of 13c.

Of topic... But whilst out running, I saw a house with their outside Christmas lights on..... In my

view that's criminal. I might go to the culporates house later, take the bulbs out, and write a message telling them I will return them and fit free of charge at a more appropriate time 😄

@Captain Shortwave... Hope all goes well on the job front fella ðŸ™

All the best to you also BB. I get made redundant in January, so I have to start looking for a job, to bridge the time until I get my green badge (London black cab license) not looking forward to the job hunting though.... Sounds pretty tough out there.

I'm tired this evening and might go for a very early sleep tonight soon.Posted Image

Then I might wake before dawn and spy Orion in the clear early morning skies. It will have been visible before dawn for about a month now, but should be obvious now. One of the great sights of the Winter skies for me, so a precursor will be nice. Posted Image The visible firmament retreats by two hours a month, so the sky at five (4 GMT) in the morning is the same as 22:00 GMT in mid December, moon and planet movements excepted. Posted Image

Hi Leigh and thanks for the message in your later post. All the best with regards to obtaining your Cabbies badge mate.Posted Image

Are you sure they were Christmas lights you saw though ? Shame on the occupants if they were because I agree it's just plain wrong this early in the year. The reason I ask is that it's not that unusual around here to see houses festooned with lights at various times of the year, often to do with religious festivals of various faiths or a birth or marriage in the family. Some of the displays would put Blackpool Illuminations in the shade !

Oh, and the weather has calmed down here, clear skies, a bright moon and currently 11c.
