Morning all . It's a mighy cauld wind that's blawin' oot there, straight frae the north. So cold! Ah, as I type it has started to rain, the horizontal kind, slamming into the window with some ferocity. Think I'll stay close by the fire today, only venturing out for neccesities: chocolate, whisky, wine etc.

*cough* Not grey and horrible here, I think we lead a charmed life at times here weather wise. Currently sunny but with some decent looking shower clouds lingering around. Temp at 9am was 2C and with a brisk wind it felt raw. Had to partially scrape the car windscreen, more ice than frost though and the estate roads were a bit slippy.

Yesterdays snow has pretty much gone now, except for a couple of small piles and a sad looking snowman in a sea of green. The top half of Bennachie was still reasonably white though, which is always a nice sight.

Bright and sunny morning, very little wind… til just before noon when someone turned the lights out and set the wind going. Dark and blustery now...It's getting very near the time for me to wear my Big Jumper…

Yeah got mine out yesterday - huge thick hoodie thing, polyester fleece on inside and about 3 sheep on the outside, says made in Nepal & I think they know what cold is like there!

Bits of blue sky appearing but still not tempted outside yet - gonna have to fetch some wood in soon mind...

Mine's a huge jumper, knitted extra-densely in a gorgeous complex design by a friend, so it effectively is double-thickness and nearly windproof. Nearly. Certainly pretty rainproof, not least because when I give it its autumn hand-washing, I melt neat lanolin into the final rinse so it becomes semi-oiled wool… Nepal ain't the only place that knows what to do with cold! :)Sky lightening here a bit - good, as I have to take neighbour's dog out shortly. But if it doesn't drop something major, either wet or white, in the coming hours then I'm a Welshman...

Some big beefy showers of rain and sleet mix heading over us this afternoon. Bitterly cold feel to the day when I was outside briefly an hour or so back, despite the actual air temp being about 5C. Not my favorite type of weather and if it keeps up we'll lose daylight about 3pm I'd say. Only consolation is the ski slopes will be getting some snow, lets hope they can keep hold of it.

Edit - Snow gates closed on A93 @Braemar & Spittal of Glenshee.
