Just a quick thanks to members that have sent me pms and posts entering the Snow Depth Cup competition this year.

If any of you havnt entered yet and would like to, just drop a post in here or pm me. Anybody that hasnt entered yet will need to get their entry in by 10.00 p.m Friday 21st November, to give Chris time to enter all participating members on to spreadsheets.

The South Thames region below.

The member that records the most accumulated snow-depths, in each of groups 1 and 2 , by a date, tba, will then proceed to the knockout phase, probably in February but we can be flexible re. that, depending on how much snow there has been.

No doubt there could be a few members with the same accumulated depth but Chris and I have spoken about a tie breaker scenario, which will announce at a later date.

Knockout phase will look like this:

Semi-Final 1. North Thames (Group 1) Winner v South Thames (Group 2) Winner.

Semi-Final 2. South Thames (Group 1) Winner v North Thames (Group 2) Winner.

Grand Final - Winner Semi-Final 1 v Winner Semi-Final 2. (Which will decide the overall winner for the SE Region.)

*Those members with asterisks against their names, could you give a more specific location please*.

Jax, you are looking at the south of the Thames listing - unless the Thames has really expanded, you're still north of it, hence you are in the north Thames group under 'East Northants'!

Good luck

Joking aside you're in the North Thames Group 1 list, mate.

The temperature in Reigate has dropped a little, currently 6.9c and the wind has moved around to a WNW bearing. I wonder if we will get above 6.9c in the day tomorrow - BBC earlier was saying perhaps a max of 7c in London so we should expect to be a degree or 2 lower than that out here in the wilds of Surrey (all terms are relative....)

Are there any rules with this comp that I should know about?

For example are flexible tap measures allowed? can I use the deepest bit of snow that gathers by the wall due to the wind? are strategically place bits of wood so it gathers deeper on the table and then remove before taking a photo allowed?

Or are there more sensible rules? just thought I'd check.

No you have to get the depth from the pitch of your roof, or you can get the depth from the pot hole in the ground.Posted Image

No chance of the first one, hate heights! Car roof is Ok providing it's in my road, parking is a nightmare here, if not the wheelie bins will be OK.

Hi tadpole,

The "War and Peace" rules and regulations are at this very moment in time, being compiled. Joking aside, take a measurement where the snow looks fairly even, say towards the centre of the garden. Anyway enjoy it, its just a bit of fun.
