Some massive gusts in Liverpool this morning....one of them blew my glasses off!! Last I saw of them was them speeding along the pavement-god knows where they ended up. Spent all morning in Vision Express while they make a new pair!!

Well i'm just back from the beach. Am absolutely soaking wet as walked there and back. I couldn't actually get to the coastguard as it was closed off; it must have flooded before I got there. Just south of the coastguard I made it on to the grasslands just inland of the beach. The waves were huge, probably around 20 feet, and solid spray was blowing several hundred yards inland. The wind was gusting at least 60-70 Mph and it was difficult to walk. The tide had already breached the seawall, and had submerged the promenade. Very exciting.

Clear skies have arrived now from the north, not sure whether the cold front has passed or if it will come after this clear slot.

Working from home today, sounds like the conservatory roof may go for a Burton soon. M60 still closed clockwise at Barton Bridge due to overturned wagon!

Not sure if the winds have died down a bit? Just been out and tied washing line to my gates and round next doors fence posts, to try and hold them while I nip out to B&Q

Showers are coming in from the Irish Sea here now. Lets see what it would bring. I'm pretty sure they look like snow in them. But nope it has to miss me.

Isn't cold enough both on the surface or higher up in the atmosphere for sleet/snow yet.

Don't let your eyes deceive you. Hail is a good sign that things are becoming unstable and changing though, meaning becoming colder. Patience.
