Rather eerie earlier here as lightning was occasionally flickering whilst the moon was out too! Could be an interesting night as the instability looks to shift towards us in Cornwall.

Had bits of thunder and lightning here today in Aberystwyth and recently some lightning without thunder! Was nice to see :)

Plenty of lightning from all different directions and with occasional brief thunderstorms passing over all evening, amazing stuff, some very close FL less than a mile away, some torrential but very brief showers with hail. 20mm of rain since this morning, still getting the occasional flash and rumble now too!

Sounds like some of you guys are having fun. Sadly everything too far west or east for here, a real let down today! Hopefully some better chances tomorrow but I won't hold my breath.

I have never seen so many thunder and lightning for 5 hrs and still rumbling

A very wet night. It has been raining virtually the whole time since 0100 hours. The radar indicates we are on the eastetrn most edge of the rain. Hopefully, it will stop soon, the dog hates the rain!

Seen several flickers of lightning up to the NW of us off and on overnight. Just about dry here currently following 2.2mm of rain from overnight showers but it looks like strong convection is developing inland quickly this morning. Mild and breezy at 13.0C currently

Crazy weather, we've had downpours and thunderstorms off and on since yesterday afternoon. Some impressive light shows last night and just had another thunderstorm with forked lightning and torrential rain and hail.

 

Now skies gone black and another loud crack of thunder and torrential rain starting.


And another bright flash and gunshot thunder!

Currently 16.6C and it's still blowing a hoolie after 12 hours. It has been quite a significant wind event! :)

More storms last night but with large gaps between cf the evening.

Very heavy rain here in Malvern - been raining heavily for the past hour. Wind's strong too, getting very gusty.

Showers are going crazy now. Hail mixed in now- manic in these gales.

Thunder! :D

65mm/hr rate. Quite consistent over the last few days.
