Nearly 2c here, with dew point just below freezing. Marginal for snow excluding other unknown variables.

Coming down well here near Robin Hood airport, wasn't very optimistic, but starting to stick, looks like my work areas getting nice bit too, so maybe snow day tomorrow, fingers crossed like HC says better to come when temps drop off further for us all

Stuff for Leeds is coming onshore around Barrow and Lancaster, stuff for Sheffield is coming onshore around Southport.

Unfortunately for Leeds to match Sheffield we need the winds to back more westerly, right now there's too much of a northerly component.

Spot on, If the winds become more westerly the showers will stream in to us

What are the wet bulbs? As the temp seems to be getting pretty marginal, we'll perhaps need to rely on evaporative cooling? Can't imagine they'll be much lower than the temp, given how saturated the air is!

Is that supposed to happen? If anything I thought the winds would slowly switch to WNW through the night?

Lashing down with soft hail. No sign of sleet, which is good. Colder air coming back in now, so should become much less marginal for those areas affected by wet stuff!

The winds are due to turn steadily more northerly until 6 am your right. As I said this morning more of a south yorkshire event this one although at the minute it's not cold enough anyway!

Is that supposed to happen? If anything I thought the winds would slowly switch to WNW through the night?

In the last half hour I've had rain, hail, sleet, snow, gusty strong winds and thunder. Certainly not a boring evening but I'm still looking for the first meaningful snow showers that settle.

How the he'll can you guess what the snowline is?!

Heavy snow shower here now, settling on car and grass, snow line now dropped from about 175m an hour ago to 125m now I would expect.

Just sat at Hemingfield now, it's throwing it down with hard pellets. not quite hail, but not soft enough for graupel

Edit: is leaving a white film on the road though. Could get slippy!
