Think its sleet in the main at low levels - the later it arrives the better - looks potent enough and well organised though

It's definitely snow at lower levels, I'm in middlesbrough and it's been full on snow for over an hour now. Good couple of CM's, first snow cover this winter

I think as long as you're far in enough from the coast, and it's heavy enough, it will fall as snow

Snow Radar looks more encouraging turning progressively red, however the band is disappearing somewhat.

It's fragmenting a bit as it comes inland, as always happens, but the back edge still looks fairly potent (currently). Nearly here now.

Still holding together and still showing as snow on the NW radar. One sugar dusting last year is all we had but, after waiting for two years, it's beginning to look like we will get at least a bit of snow this evening/overnight.

Getting a bit excited now and the weather for the remaining of the week looks promising in terms of cold and perhaps a top-up or two....

And after all that anticipation.................... sleet :nonono:

The weakest, most pathetic part is passing right over me, typical! And the bit behind which is the heaviest will probably fade out and die as it goes over the moors too. Anyone would think I'm a pessimist?!

Arrghh, you may be right :wallbash: Now that the precipitation has crossed the N York Moors, the colours on NW radar are changing to green, Hopefully they will change back to pink again but, if they don't, the wait will continue....

I know, starting to wonder if I'll ever see lying snow again!

Do not lose hope, the latest frame on the NW radar is showing pink appearing on the southern edge of the precipitation...

In Hull, not expecting any snow here, more in the way of sleet. Height above sea level here is about 4 metres

The remains of the front arrived as light rain going to be fun if that freezes overnight.

Main area of precipitation likely to slip down to the East of Barnsley but the area currently over Yorkshire Dales heading South does to be intensifying and is currently of snow so could produce a slight coveting for us later this evening.

Heavy snow continuing, settling everywhere now - even on places that were totally wet beforehand. Fantastic to see after such a long snow drought!

Radar has turned to green now but to the west the green has turned to pink. All of that notwithstanding, the temp here is 0°C with a DP of -1.3°C so I think it's looking good.

Good to see the Dew point below zero, with the radar alternating between red and greengreen its gonna be a case of nowcasting. I have more hope for the North bank, less for the south, i expect that the Humber may mix things out further. Hope not.

Hope it can get to Hull, always a bit tricky here because we are so low, but dew points around the city are at or below freezing.
