I wouldn't say that. The heaviest band looks to be hitting you right on the head.

From my reading it will go diagonally between Newc and Durham.

Rain mixed with hail here. The dew point way to high to expect anything else here on the coast. Still its already an improvement on last year.

Netweather precip type radar shows rain at the coast then sleet within about 10 miles of the coast then snow further inland.

Hoping it's snow here at 200m, it's not far away now.

I would say I am more than 10 mile away from the coast and it's just sleet here.

Edit. We now have wet snow. No chance of it laying but this has to be a plus from last year lol!

Snow - but not settling,wet,... and the N Sea looks like it has no more to give us. A non-event for us again.

I agree. Unless the North sea gets going again and tempture drops the warnings were a little premature.

I havnt looked in the mod output thread for a while and I know there is a lot of winter left but it's wasn't looking great the last time I checked.

Don't give up on the North Sea yet, there's more showers developing as they approach land. I'd say there's at least another couple of bands to come yet.

Nice thin covering on all surfaces here.

At this stage the only plus is that the Pennines might get a bit so we can go there tomorrow.

Still a poor second to a snow-covered scene at home at low level, mind. Beginning to wondering when we will ever get to see that again!

Looks good for Northumberland, but Newcastle to Boro, not. And that's where most of us live! LOL :p

Before the showers it was 1.8c, now down to 1.2c, with sleet.  The air feed it not cold enough, unlike Nov 2010....

I am also beginning to wonder when it will happen again! Even a thin covering. Like freezing-point said this is unfortunatly different to 2010 where it was full on snow from same event. Edited by NorthEastSnow

Back on again. Most persistent it has been. Bottle of Ale in one hand, curtains ajar to see lamppost up the street. Beats the garbage on the telly hands down
