horrible weather here raining and windy

Where are you mate?

If that system working south is mostly rain its a shame because there seems like a good few hours of precip to be had

I think we might have to hope that the ban of precip arrives after dark as temperatures may be slightly lower.

Temperatures are rising to around 3c in parts of the region now as forecasted by the met office

With all this snow melt tomorrow morning could see a major ice hazard on untreated surfaces

rain here has now turned back  to sleet

Yeah, its a strange afternoon all the different mixes as snowing again up here. Hopefully once the afternoon draws out there will be a better chance of snow to lower ground if the showers keep pushing through.

Sleet lower down in Shotley Bridge, climb to Blackhill and snowing, in Consett a good covering and bitter in wind! Now turning to snow back lower down and temp is dropping currently 1 degree was 2 an hour ago. Good signs.

As i see it this afternoon we have a wintry mix of rain, sleet, hail and snow showers running down eastern side of our region, snow mainly on higher ground inland, with wet snow/sleet to lower levels. hopefully temps will fall this evening and with ground surfaces freezing over the snow will start to settle if this low pressure system in north sea pushes showers or persistent sleet/snow further inland later.

Temp here slightly dropping to 1.7c and snowing at present but rather wet.

Looks like a more organised system pushing the showers inland and again they are defo snow at elevation despite radar indicating sleet.
