Looks on the wrong side of marginal too me.

Lets be honest, the models have hinted both upper air and PPN intensity could be against us but if you read the model thread you would not think this was going to be the case, it never filled me with much optimism in all honesty and looking at the radar, we aint missng much at all really. I won't be losing sleep over it for sure.

The radar looks like the white stuff might just make it into the north of the region, any reports from south of durham.

Well it's a very slow moving front and looks like a lot still heading due north, fingers xd.

Edit: Yorkshire thread reports a pasting and the speed its moving we might just get lucky as it heads up the a1.

Very light snow here now despite meto not forecasting it getting this far up north.

Radar looking ok too for through the night.

Not sure what the chances are of that great lump over Yorkshire making it here are... slim I'd guess.

Reports in the Yorkshire thread sound promising and I think they started off with light stuff and now getting the heavier stuff.

Hopefully will be a surprise in the morning as the fronts going to take a good few hours to all push through up our way.

With current falling snow it's now 5 days in the last 10 I've had falling snow which is really lucky but feel the next few weeks could get v.interesting with the northern hemisphere having some unusual synoptics and vortex emptying into Spain.

Failing that I'm bunking off work tomorrow and driving to Dipton! ;)

Much bigger flakes now as the biggish clump is passing through.

Can go to bed happy now, with the curtains open again and one eye open.

Yep - half decent fall here - everything is covered.

Just hoping that other clump reaches here before it goes into the N Sea

I was thinking same but radar shows we might be in the sweet spot relatively speaking looking at the wind vectors as wasn't meant to get this far north. My only concern is that it is just so light so a dusting may be the best for most.

morning... slight covering here from overnight, temp currently 0.7c snow cover showing some signs of slight thawing, but it is snowing at present although be it very light.

Big clump of ppn over N york moors, heading slowly north... don't think it will make it without fizzling out.

Slight covering here, didn't expect anything so a bonus.

6th day with falling snow but never exceeded 2cms, needed another 300feet altitude to getting accumulating snow which was frustrating.

Spell was much better in Southern Scotland, around 8cms lying in Motherwell yesterday.

Just on the northern edge of an area of light snow and there is a slight additional cover.
It was not forecast to reach here but not surprised as they were all over the place with this the last few days.

Yes this winter hasn’t been great but it has to be better than the last as i had lying snow for 3 hours!! that’s an improvement lol.

Let’s hurry up to summer where we don’t all get SAD disease.

So just after midnight we had light snow in Darlington and it was settling now we've got a light drizzle you'd never know it was snowing just over 8 hours ago

Sunday's snow event has made this winter marginally better than last winter so far

We now have 5 1/2 weeks of meteorological winter left to muster up a decent spell of snow
