Around 3 inches here right now and currently moderate snow.

North Sea looking decent at the min to the nne.

Plus meto forecast has heavy snow here at 9&10.

I know they are usually useless but surely at this range they can't be far wrong?

On the 8am update the meto have taken us from heavy snow at 9 and 10 on the 7am update to cloudy but dry now for 9&10.

Nowing their updates by 9 will be back to heavy snow!

Instead of spending millions on super computers maybe they could just toss a coin as it will be just as acurate!

Looks like being a very frustrating spell this. With Scotland and parts of the midlands, NW and Wales having seen decent snow over the last few days (and post-Christmas), and more forecast for the midlands, EA and other areas in the south this week... looks like we'll need something NE'ly in February or this will end up being a winter where we end up with the wooden spoon. :(

The BBC / Met office continue to show temperatures recovering during the weekend and into next week

If we are going to see some snow our best chance is going to be tomorrow and Wednesday

Don't take the Met Office tabular forecasts too literally is my word of advice!

Some wintry showers around today but our main chance of some snow looks to be late tomorrow and Wednesday looks the best chance for us this week maybe more sleety right on the coast at times

If that fails to deliver then our only other hope is some leading edge snow on any systems coming in from the west which will eventually introduce some less cold air

Alternating between rain, sleet & snow all morning in Washington, very marginal conditions. I hope the charts for Tue/Wed are right but I can't help feel it's just not cold enough for the snow we all want.

Not the best eh, light rain here now! Not expecting any further lying snow here this week but hope i am pleasantly surprised.

Here's hoping for a solid northerly with -10 uppers at some point in February that would deliver the goods!

Just had another snow shower but was quite fine snow but is falling on top of the 4cm that continued to lie on widespread ice overnight.

The paths are lethal in parts but at least the snow gives a stronger foothold.
