Right I'm getting out of the village now and heading nearer the kids schools and nursery.7 miles over the fell. As I think the schools will close early.

Snow in Manchester - very light, but a good sign.

I heard a guy from over Yorkshire was saying it wouldn't snow in the North West ?

Bit of a difference between a flurry and a good covering ; )

It looks good for cumbria and areas north of blackburn. But I wouldn't expect any significant amounts further south below 100m.

The fact it is snow in an urban area like Manchester already, at 2pm in middle of day with temps at their highest, is definitely a good sign. As long as the showers penetrate this region over night, into tomorrow, as expected, it will definitely be snow and should lay fairly widely.

Considering its 4C and it's been snowing, it bodes quite well actually.

The showers don't really affect this area until later tonight and overnight either. 15m ASL :hi:

Enjoy your snow later... If it makes it ;-)

Snow wasn't even in the forecast for today, I am sat at sea level and its been snowing for the last 10 mins. It will be colder tonight I remain optimistic that it will snow further south.

Am currently between Kendal and Carnforth.

Haha :D well I'm pretty confident but as ever with showers, some places will miss out even in favoured areas.
