So...... whatever else happens, note it down in your diaries that on the 2nd February 2015 it snowed and briefly settled at the most southerly point in the UK aka the Lizard. I do suggest that fact alone is an intriguing one. Forecasts have gone largely as per my expectations from a few days ago but that previous statistic is the best one of all IMHO.

Not such a rubbishy mild spell after all, yet you, me and all and sundry in the netweather still request the following.

Greedy bunch aren't we but not as greedy as some I'd suggest.  :shok:

Bit more than briefly settled GLTW Gone from the roads now but fields and roof tops still white in St Keverne,Daughter's little snow man just about still hanging in there.

Need a top-up  sap, any chance,or is that just being greedy.

That big clump of cloud is certainly heading towards Somerset if it continues its current track.

Will be an interesting watch on the radar.

How about if we all get a battering and there's an upper trough moving southwest that's developing and none of the models have picked up on !

Back In the day that would happen aswel just not now !

possible!

Almost looks like there's some circulation in the system heading in from the Wash

i noticed that but thought my eyes were playing tricks again

:sorry:  :sorry:

I do think it will head more west than your arrows suggest though although probably not enough to reach somerset.

Yes, I think you're right, it should be corrected to include all parts right up to Bristol as they may well get in on the action over the next couple of hours too. It doesn't look overly heavy but enough to provide a brief sprinkling in a lot of places. Jay should catch something in Cardiff if he's not too far West but we'll know more later on that aspect. Will the Cotswolds provide an obstacle that the precipitation can't cross is a most pertinent question for me right now though.

Should reach here after 9pm. Heres hoping it keeps its intensity and spreads further SW, so more of us can join the sprinkling train!

The thing that really frustrates me about this cold spell now is I would be happy with a mere dusting just to make ground white,  it would last for several days with projected temperatures if it just fell!

Ian F did mention on the local forecast the precipitation could be further west than what the map was showing!
