Cold enough for snow in fact today has felt quite cold - 2.0C my Dp is -3C. MO tend to overdo it IMHO. I usually knock off 1-2C.

For those South of London re tonight, METO definately see shower activity in early hours 3am ish and through tomorrow morning when you look at METO invent. Which has proved very good in recent events, so despite no yellow be aware for those locations. Its still a possibility.

Never ceases to amaze me that people on a weather forum take the BBC weather forecast as gospel :wallbash:

or the Met Office :)

I must admit I find the disconnect between the MetO outputs and the TV forecasts (even on the BBC) unfathomable.  All I can imagine is that the awful graphics plus the much-reduced slot allowed for forecasts has led to such vague, hurried pronouncements that accuracy has suffered.

Temperature still falling (only to be expected, I admit, but the rate is surprising); 1.0C in Wymondham now.  DP. still -4C.

EDIT:  Make that 0.9C LOL!

I see talk of a "possible" northerly on the model discussion thread for next weekend...

After the last one and the huge letdown I think I will pass on that and stick with cold clear frosty weather unless I can have a nice easterly instead... Don't want much do I ? Lol 😉â„⛄

A lot of snow reports coming from Lincolnshire / Yorkshire. Even snowing right on the coast with Skeggy reporting snow now. Fingers crossed they keep heading south.

I was looking at the wind directions and they don't look favourable at all for snow?

Seem to be heading south-west though.  There are a few making landfall on the North Norfolk coast, but they seem to be weakening rapidly.

Does anyone think peterborough is a good location for showers tonight? X

Yes,

These showers are moving south - Euro4 shows it well.
