.........current radar showing the Wash area being the barren area at present! You would expect the showers to be building through there though?!

With the wind direction as is, we are bang in line for anything building from the Wash. Could be an interesting night for us in the north of the region.

An hour

Is that it

Waited 6 days for the wind to change to less marginal and we get an hour

Lol

I'm done

I think he means starting around that window, I think the instability from the north sea should be around for a while, fingers crossed anyway.

Gritters to be deployed in Croydon. Snow expected approx 03:00- 04:00hrs

Hi Mr Yamkin, is it expected to be a more lengthy spell of snow or just more energised snow showers? I would take a 1cm at this precise time.

0.8c and falling with a dp of -4.1. If that holds, no marginality.... at last!

Looks like Suffolk and Essex are not the places to be in the SE tonight if you want snow!

In this neck of the woods this cold spell has amounted to some sleet, and a dusting that melted within 20 minutes. Looking grim for later in the week with more talk of a "wintry mix" again.

I'll take the positives though, snow messes with my bike rides to work!

Hope a few in the region get to see something tonight though ☺

Yes plse!

I rate the NMM very highly perhaps more so than the Euro4 I like what I see, it has got the past week pretty bang on, I hope we all can share the snow.

also worth noting Jules, the all the hi-res modeling is considerably off the mark with ppn spread and location as well......a lot more ppn on radar across the east midlands than modeled, and considerably further west.......more ppn will develop overnight, but for now, those showery outbreaks over the east Midlands/Wash are heading towards the home counties/M4 corridor across to Wilts

Very good for those S & W of the Wash and W Norfolk.

Starting to snow in Kings Lynn, dry flakes not the wet stuff we had at the weekend.

I wouldn't bet on it.

Good chance tonight, and further chances right to the end of this week. OK no deep snow on the cards, but we have a better chance of a cm or two tonight and the next few days than we have over the past 5/6days

Errm either the NMM is on one, or most of us are waking up to a decent blanket of snow...

Maybe there's hope for me after all lol.

Interesting that the NMM has virtually nothing in The Wash, which is the area the Euro4 fancies. Going to be a nowcast event.......

Much colder today with a high of just 3C (briefly), that's more like it! Was getting annoyed with highs of 6-7C being described by the BBC as 'bitterly cold'. Anyway, looking more positive for snow rather than any miserable, marginal crap. Hopefully it won't warm up again later this week....

The Humber streamer is doing very well, with possibly another one just East of York and the Wash seems to also have a streamer forming in the last two runs. Time will tell, but looking fairly good for a surprise dusting for some.

Nice Ecm 144 chart

Indeed if it all shunted west & north we'll be onto something special... still more to come, I like the trend. :good:
