Wet, windy morning with hill fog lying on the tops.

Not the start to a weekend I was hoping for but in fairness, only what was forecast.

7.2c though so not particularly cold.

Forecast to dry up later in the morning so maybe it will end up as an half decent day but horrible at the moment.

Oh dear a very miserable morning/lunchtime, with rain strong winds and grey skies, not very springlike. The clearer drier conditions only setting in around 2pm, rather too late to salvage the day. Alas the grey skies are back and we await the next impending spell of rain. Its mild though which is a bit of a consolation and the winds have died down somewhat. I'm pleased I made the most of last weekend. Tomorrow looks an equally miserable first half and becoming cool once again.Thankfully it isn't easter weekend, and the models are forecasting generally drier conditions for the easter period but cold conditions with some notable frosts.. pleased with the outlook in this respect and is making this weekend much more bearable.

Just been to Southport and it was sunny while over there and felt pleasantly warm. I had a Bailey's hot chocolate with cream it was nice. :)

It is pouring down now.

Not in the habit of criticising the Met Office but this mornings BBC forecast couldn't be further from the truth than what actually happened, certainly in this part of the region.

Instead of a late morning clearance from rain to a dry afternoon it went straight from heavy rain to torrential showers without even seeing the join.

Anyway Sunday looks wet pretty well throughout so I just hope that they perform as bad as they did with today.

GFS picked up on that convective streamer 2-days ahead of the predicted front which is now moving through, so model wise the GFS has won-out for this weekend. Rain all the way into early Monday morning for us in the peaks.

Just a shame it wasn't a couple of months earlier and from a slightly colder source because it's certainly put some water down today.

Another wet horrible start to the day and with little better expected for the rest of the day, it looks like a good time to do some inside jobs.

At least the changing of the clocks mean that we can see the miserable weather for longer.
