Another weather warning for wintry conditions here overnight.. could well be a surprise dusting of snow first thing if we see any heavy snow showers, conditions are every bit as similar to Thursday morning. Fells should get a decent covering of snow, and looking ahead next week there are more snow chances. A definite N-S split at the moment, Cumbria just on the colder wintry side of things.

From as good a weekend March can offer to as bad, and in the space of seven days.

Even the usual early evening clearance which often follows a wet Sunday couldn't be bothered to arrive today.

At least it will settle the dust and water the tumbleweed ready for when it starts moving through.

It must be the time of year but I honestly hope we're on the mild side of it.

Had enough of winter now.

With the amount of rain we've had and clearing skies, they're probably expecting icy conditions.

More likely than snow I'd have thought but a few wintry showers are possible.

Slight whiteness on the tops and a few white patches in the garden, must have snowed in the night.

I'm actually liking this rain. If it's going to rain it might as well be a good downpour.

Despite the clocks going forward, its felt like a winter's day and evening today with dark grey leaden wet skies just after lunch, temps down to 4 degrees by early evening under very heavy rain and gusty winds. Now we have some strong winds buffeting around and showers. It has a real wintry feel to things..

A gloomy Monday.

Yes, I was thinking this setup is the average Xmas setup, not Easter, normally Easter is dominated by easterly winds

Yes whilst this time of year like any can be wet, probabilities of a drier quiet set up are much higher than any other period outside of April and May. Also, it is notably windy, strong winds are not normally associated with late March and particularly April and May. Its the combo of very wet conditions and strong winds which is making for a particularly wintry feel to things. Temps between 4-8 degrees also what you might expect in December. Strong winds and heavy rain at this time of year might be more associated with milder westerlies and southwesterlies, however, here we have cold northwesterlies... its preety miserable.
