Seems a few people saw it across the NW as the sun was going down, caught it myself too when I was glimpsing out the window. A nice way to end to a pleasant 15'c day.

It's still in the sky now. I think it's really quite rare for a sundog to stay in the sky for nearly an hour.

Nice, a sunny morning! Assuming it doesn't cloud over, temperatures should really rise today. 17C is the one to beat.

A beautiful morning in south cheshire, a few bits of high cloud

Occasionally blocking out the warm sunshine, otherwise looks like

Been a good one, lots of gardening today, with the odd beer break

Lovely

I just been to Holmfirth in Yorkshire and I had a huge pie at a pub called Old Bridge Inn.

It is a gorgeous day today with pleasant temperatures.  It is gone a little cloudy here now.

I just missed out on 20C yesterday (19C), but I'm confident that I'll do it today. I've already had a warmer start to the day, we've got southerly winds and a forecast (hopefully) for wall-to-wall sunshine.

Another decent day although the hazy conditions which moved in during the afternoon probably held the temperatures back a bit.

Still managed a decent 18c though so not bad for early April.

A few light showers breaking out across this part of the region at the moment.

Not enough to wet the ground so far but the last one left that wet dog smell that seems to only appear from rain on a warm surface.

Other than that though a pleasant 18c and time for a walk.

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
