Plenty of CG directly to my south probably Kidderminster. 1 to 2 flashes a minute...

That's the one I'm looking at. It's actually a little north of me in Bewdley.

Is that it? 30 seconds of rain from what looked like a cell barely 15 miles to the south?

There is definitely some kind of Faraday cage in the atmosphere round here.

Yep seems to be heading up the Severn Valley. Much closer now and quite intense.

5 secs between last CG and thunder and trying to rain now.

Occasional flashes to my south and east, but they seem very distant. No thunder.

Just look at the radar. That stuff down over south Shropshire suddenly split in two and died when it realised it was heading for Shrewsbury. What is it with this town missing everything? Snow, thunder, sun, heat we get none of it.

Anyone remember when storms used to come from the N or NW as a cold front hit warm air? Never happens these days, it's always the S or SW which always die or veer off just south of here.

Forget streams further afield we have an electrical storm alright. Can only get better. Awaiting a deluge of rain later.

It's moved on very rapidly from due south to north of Telford now.. Short and sweet!

Looks like it missed Telford to the east, couldn't keep away from the Staffs border... but yes this wind is making them move very fast. And it seems to be helping them die out quicker.

All gone rather quiet here. I can still see the distant flickering to the NE, but I can barely hear the thunder any more. Looking at the radar, there seems to be plenty more rain heading up the M5, but how stormy it is I don't know.
