Must be the white elephant in the room! So 36.7C avoided Shrewsbury...lol. And a supercell. We got over it and quick. Look on the bright side eh. Edit. Why oh why do folk whine on ?

I am genuinely gutted about the lack of anything stormy today...it could have been epic! Sigh...gonna give this storm watching a break me thinks, been a really disappointing year so far.

They're getting battered up north though...some supercells have been reported.

To conclude, today was extremely dissapointing storm-wise. Although we did hit a maximum of 33C today - not a record breaker here although only just behind. The potential for storms was there - the CAPE/LI was extremely high, but nothing came. Thursday or Friday had better make up for this lack of storms.

Not surprisingly it's feeling much fresher this morning, currently 18.8°C following an overnight low of exactly 15.0°C

Looks like N England and Scotland enjoyed some truly spectacular storms last night!

Most of us are in the 'SLGT' convective warning zone today.

LOL! I watched the cell explode while I was getting the washing in; you could the lighting flashing from 30+ miles away. Still in the no storms club because this was not overhead (it was at the time of developing!!)

I can't believe how much cooler conditions are today. It'c currently 21.3°C, which means it is almost a full 10°C cooler than at the same time yesterday. Very rare you see such a stark contrast between days.

Here's to more widespread thunderstorms tomorrow evening and on. Nudging back towards 80F in old pence too. Better chance for those who have missed out so far, hopefully they'll materialise overnight to make it that bit more dramatic.

Gone very dark just to the south, smell of rain in the air, is there something yet to come???

Unbelievable we couldnt reach 30 when it did so at 1000ft further north. Whats wrong with this area?

Did make the hottest june day here since 1995 just checking my notes day before yesterday.

How about some reverse psychology I`m not mentioning the T word for tomorrow night.

It may happen.

Currently a mighty 13.7 °C here! Pouring with rain, and if it weren't for the lushness of the foliage it could easily be October. Huge, huge difference from 24 hours ago!

Increasingly looking like tomorrow will be our best shot for a decent thunderstorm so far this summer.

We seem to have lost so many potential weather events this year to other areas in the UK (snowstorms slipping north giving us rain...thunderstorms spawning on the very edges of our region and drifting off to give someone else a show)...something will work out for us in the end!

At least we've been on the cool side on the cold front today. Hot weather is interesting but I'm a supply teacher and have appreciated the break from it!

The most striking thing about this plume was the fact of the temperatures. A dramatic rise in temperature within 36hrs and then a dramatic drop of 20c today! The plume did not go out with a bang at all here, a misely  1mm of rain, no thunderstorms whatsoever :sorry:
