Nice stuff heading out of northern France. I wonder if they will hold there strength over the channel.

Very frustrating! It looks like the lightning has stopped barely 5-10 miles before it got to the Exe Valley! Never mind, there is a lot more activity in the channel so perhaps some of them will reach us

Walking to work now and the sky looks filthy. Very warm and humid too. Thinking I may of heard distant thunder from the south west

I reckon at some point mate.Showers heading out of France should produce in an hour or 2 surely . Not much electrical activity but horribly humid and the heat of the day should get things going. Or not. Lol

Incredibly humid here, stifling even. No lower than 21.2C overnight.

Sky looks very turbulent, slate grey with cumulos popping up all over the place.

Altocumulus castellanus clouds are appearing here it tells me the atmosphere is unstable here. I'm wondering are they gonna grow into a  good T-storm or not here.

I don't think I've ever seen such an unstable and convective sky whilst the day is so young. It reminds me of being in Florida. I really do think it's going to go bang later on. :D

Not much going on at the moment - hopefully not for long though. What an amazing morning! Sun is out, already 23C.

Latest NMM looking a little disappointing for southeasterners, barring perhaps some imports through the morning across C/S areas (as currently charted). NMM then wants to kill this off by late morning/lunchtime leaving us high and dry.

All going to be resting on Friday night and through Saturday morning, which MetO are now calling "thundery showers" rather the potentially severe thunderstorms yesterday.

Plenty of Ac about and some very high based Cu that are building rapidly to my South. Looks very unstable. Hit 25 just after 8 am this morning and climbing.

Those storms in France look like they're already weakening and not even in the channel. My bet would be they die out and fire up again somewhere halfway up the country, seen it happen before.
