Was going to say.. England is going bang!!!

Storm just South of Reading.. and another North of Brighton come alive within 5 mins of each other !

Another downpour with similar intensity to those storms.. but not producing anything on the lightning map nr Portsmouth

Yeah, certainly was a very close rumble, but did not see the lightning as I wasn't looking for it haha!

I'm very certain that lightning detectors don't pick up all sferics..

Experience, we can have a couple of dozen flashed but the lightning maps pick up may'be 6-7 of them

Great Evening here, proper dry storms, some beautiful cgs, one very very close one, every single strike was all cgs and very powerful! Though not frequent, but still the skies along with any lightning, and an incredible sunset was seriously amazing!

They don't ancientsolar, they only pick up cg's(cloud to ground strikes),ic's(inter cloud strikes) don't get detectored, hope that helps.

Edit:a few sferics NE of Swindon now.

The Midlands may just avoid every storm this week! What a surprise.

But it may surprise us and get all the storms!

Yeah I do remember this being mentioned in previous years.

Either way, all clear now with a warm southerly breeze which is keeping my attic room slightly ventilated on this warm night. Can't risk the roof windows being open with that apending MCS that could be heading this way

Think that stuff in Biscay and west of it may end up one big line by the time it gets here, if things keep building as it is at the moment. Is it the warm front by any chance, where tomorrows warmer air is now?

You are in with a definite shout but I favour London & Southeast visualising the trajectory. it is a dynamic system it could grow it could fragment first option is favoured IMO - its complex and impossible to forecast. This potential MCS is circa 4 hours away from the South Coast a lot can happen...

I think that we will be clear of the MCS crud thankfully as this is pushing NE and will/may miss the SE,it's the seperate clumps i am interested in SW of brest,at the moment i don't think they will join the MCS but i could be wrong.

sferic NE of Hastings, that is dry rain

my internet was down ten mins then, that is the third time tonight,if this happens again,i will bring my thor hammer down on em :wallbash:

Sunrise in Manchester is at 4.45am, once the sun's warmth gets going the plume should initiate storms by the late morning.

Metoffice currently going for the storms to kick off around 20 miles into the Irish Sea from Liverpool and track north. The energy could be used over the sea rather than the land, but giving Scotland a great show.
