Feels incredibly stormy outside here now, strong warm SE wind blowing, temp sitting at 24'c at nearly 10:30 and loads of mid level clouds bubbling up. Like a powder keg ready to explode, all we need is the match.  :D

Well I'm off for the night unless Mother Nature springs a surprise.

Had a few flashes of distant lightning/rumbles of thunder and some decent cloud structures but nothing out of this world.

Good luck to everyone inside the level 2 tomorrow make everyone down south jealous and get some good pics

First distant rumble and flash here. I'm not even fussed if it doesn't do anything, the skies have given me a real treat this evening.

Chill :p

Seems to have died down now and it's heading away from us anyway.

That's our action for the year been and gone ;)

Hhmmm, are you sure?

And I certainly don't think that's it for the year haha!

The BBC forecast I just watched has us waking up to storms on Thursday!

The Beeb is usually well off the mark for us ;)

I thought the weekend was looking good (bad for you) but there's a lot of hours between then and now and we will end up with a heavy shower ;)

Yeah i've never seen Scotland with a level two in all the years i'be been observing the weather, I just about choked on my Coffee . Will be a very interesting late afternoon/evening for us lot tomorrow  :bomb:

Exactly haha. Estofex does put a lot of emphasis on the initiation of storms being difficult so I'm trying not to get too excited. Pretty sure Alloa is just inside the Level 2 area... Still find it really weird seeing a Level 2 in Scotland

Agreed with those advising caution on the Estofex forecast. Ingredients based forecasting is exactly that.

Possessing an onion and wearing a beret doesn't necessarily mean that you can make French Onion Soup. However, it also doesn't mean that you can't, either...

Nice to see the potential for severe storms is there now though. I always enjoy reading and trying to understand the technical aspects of their forecasts, and despite the uncertainty, there is a flutter of excitement for the Level 2 warning!

A lot of radar/sky watching tomorrow :)

Apart from the thin leading edge, it looks like there's very little rain in this current development. Less than a 1mm going by the radar.

Thanks for the efforts of reassurance but until it's Xmas and we're all moaning about the lack of snow, I will be prepared for it to thunder and any given time! I'm off to hide!

Lightning seen just now to the south of here near Croydon, the northern edge of the plume seems to be destabilising further east than expected, was thinking more SW UK earlier today ... The joys of forecasting storms in plume set-ups!

I've seen most of the flashes of the last 20 mins to my South. Really don't know why this isn't going off proper.either way this is good considering we didn't have even 1% storm chance on netweather local forecast - and nothing mentioned on Google weather either!
