I think more storms will kick off when the +20C air arrives and destabilizes tonight and into the early morning across the south and moving up the country, GFS has this and I can see it being a real possibility...

Further east than expected....

What a surprise. Game Over for here as usual.

same here , the south was forecast nothing and it gets them , we were forecast some scattered thundery showers late tonight , and will get nothing

but I did say yesterday,  it does not matter where the forcasters put the symbols, the usual areas always steal the storms

Anyone else think the line of precip to the west side of London will pep up a bit as it moves east over the capital?

At the risk of seeming dumb, will the fact that there are storms breaking out in areas which were supposed to have a clear night inhibit any storms/extreme weather that has been forecast for the rest of the week? Or is it irrelevant in these plumes?

Raining here now in Croydon, big warm drops. Lightning rather sparse and sporadic for any thought of cameras though.

EDIT - soon as it started, suddenly it stops ..

Shame nothing can get going here. Looked quite promising earlier. Sky looked very angry, seems as though we're not going to get much from this plume set up down here in the west country. Still plenty of summer left though.

To be honest, I think things will go bang later on in the night here, there's just not quite enough energy yet, this evening's Ac Cas has given us a very good chance as they don't appear often.

not sure but the beeb indicated that there will be a lot more cloud tomorrow over much of england than the blue skies of today and also the areas that are seeing showers were indicated by the beeb in their forecast of course the main action is tomorrow ove N England And Scotland and then possibly on thursday in the E/SE as the cold front goes through

I wonder this too. If so, I'd rather it just go bang in one go than have more mediocre storms.

It feels like its getting hotter in this house.

Well it's fair to say the humidity has arrived. Been standing in the garden for 10 minutes without a t-shirt on and it is VERY WARM...clouding over more now and no more lightning observed - boooooo!!!!

Those showers are breaking up pretty quickly, not sure if we are even going to get a drop of rain.

for sure !  hmmmm, nothing is sure in this part of the north west were storms are concerned,  its a very fickle area for storms, cumbria and scotland have a better chance of more widespead activity it seems

The wind vectors will swing more northerly overnight, the dissipating showers in the south will bring the moisture and destablised airmass across the north into tomorrow morning. As daytime heating gets underway all this latent energy will 'pop' like a balloon and any instability will occur rapidly. Not expecting anything for tonight here other than the BBC predicting a rogue shower possible for the pennines by 6am.
