There seems to be some very ott terms being used here so far, "exploding" and "super cells" .... radar would somewhat contradict this at present. I can understand the excitement but we are not seeing a widescale breakdown at present.

Very True,

I don't care for supercells or exploding's lol I would be happy with just a flash or two here lo'

Some enjoyable flashing and rumbling off the coast here in Southport for the last 30-40 mins that's settled down now, but the town centre itself is still bone dry so must have been a little ways out.

Well basically forecast is bust with everything much further west than predicted by a long way.

A dry night coming up.

Howay Pitt the night is young man - there is clear destabilisation going on from south London area across to NW England so don't be too down yet!

We are only just entering the warm sector now. The cold front causing the bigger storms is still in SW Englanw. All to play for still.

Seems like the warm front development has pushed east quickly. I hope we're holding onto the instability for the cold front. Big storm over north wales near Bangor.

Going live on periscope in a mo see if can catch some of the distant lightening

Just been for a walk up the field and yes I can see very distant quite frequent lighning to the far far NW.

I caught 3 distant flashes to the NNE and caught one quite impressive little rogue CG just west of here luckiliy, but no thunder, that hasn`t happened since last decade.

A warm east wind out there.

True that bro, I think we're in with a shot looking at the radar though! Strikes popping up around Brighton will be moving our sort of way.

Christ looking out to Wales never noticed cells near Shrewsbury and developing south of here. Need to reposition... Heading to Bayston hill south of town. Feeling it about to kick off.

Can see flickers from that Manchester storm.

Also visible from Chesterfield

Not as it was the other night though, with the 40,000 footers producing the flashing kind

Looks like you won't need to move from your position as those south coast storms are tracking right this way. I'll head to the Peaks for a nice view south should they survive the 200+ mile trip up north, which is easily possible if they turn supercellular.

Hi Malc

i have a south view vantage point from my room window,i can see for miles, once saw a few flickers in the midlandsmbirmingham area :D ,thats what i will be looking out for again shoud owt come that close.
