Had a pretty good light show here the last 15 minutes or so, looks like Fareham area is doing well.

These storms on the South Coast are elevated it seems. Only around 10 miles away from the storm and only faint thunder heard. Lightning is spectacular though. Lots of sheet and CG Strikes at times

Met Office going with some cells breaking out further west from the current developing storm trail, maybe clipping into the Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire part of the East Midlands overnight. It does look like I am too far west though even for this.

Casual observation but noting I don't have a giant metre stick handy, the cloud bases to me look lower than two weeks ago. If this is the case then I would draw attention to the severe risk associated with storms, as noted particularly in Nick's forecast and that too of Estofex.

It would appear from reports elsewhere that some of these storms are not elevated and so you could be correct here.

Oh bugger...I'm not too far from you and can't see it from here...too much low cloud pouring in. Humidity jumped a notch again (or so it feels anyway)

Gone very quiet here not sure if it's a load of rumbling I can hear in the distance. Dog isn't happy, not settling

Also according to the radar some heavy rain inbound too

other sources ( a very respected forecaster) saying probably a number of surface based supercells now - keep the pics coming in! :)

The current storm over my neck of the woods is elevated. Lightning is clearly visable but thunder is very faint baring in mind the storm is only 5-10 miles away from my location
