I've only just realised that the forecast shows heavy rain for here right now, and then I just looked at the radar! No rain has fallen, and the front has gone through London. What happened? LaieA_055.gif

Time for a fresh new March thread mods?! :)

Raining quite steadily.

I thought last night's forecast showed it moving through and clearing by 10.30ish this morn. Latest radar seems to indicate a good few hours of rain to come.

They never get the predicted timings correct. If an evening forecast shows rain arriving at 06.00 and clearing by 11.00 it generally turns up around 08.00 and clears early afternoon. A mixture of which model run the forecast it taken from and Mother Nature doing her thing!

Worst day here for 10 days so aside from a few damp days (Monday and Friday last week) it's been a decent and much needed drier spell.

Steady rain and the breeze picking up - welcome March! I'm banking on it clearing through by lunchtime as site visits in the rain doesn't sound too fun.

I'm wondering whether tomorrow will be a clean convective day with impressive cloud structures, or a mucky cloudy day with little clearance between showers. Either way, it'll feel bitter and much colder compared to today.

Main band of rain has cleared through although I am stuck with persistent rain still which seems to be clinging on to the hills. Hope this clears soon. Temperature peaked at 9.8c

Friday morning still looks like best chance although Wednesday looks interesting over hills if your near them during the day I just don't expect anything to be laying around when I return home in evening. :wallbash:

The rain has cleared, 3.6mm fell.

Temp: 11°C - Hum: 92% - Dew: 9.8°C - Bar: 1010.49hPa - Wind: SW/WSW @ 10mph

I see a wind warning is in force for parts of Wales and the Southwest tomorrow?!. Projected gusts here range between 39 and 46mph.

Wouldn't get your hopes up re Friday.

Looks increasingly likely any snowfall will be north of our region, ie Pennines, North Midlands etc.

:wallbash: As always this year!

Looks like my best chance is 6 - 7.30 am Wednesday if those showers can make it to our region before I leave for work.. :nea:

I said I'd never do it, on the principle of the extreme price.. But after finding a German company selling them much cheaper than the UK, I went ahead and did it! I bought the Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station.  LorDeR_ahgm.gif

Hopefully it'll arrive by the weekend!

Meanwhile, it looks a crazy affair through tomorrow. I wonder if some of the folks on higher ground- to the North of the region might see some flakes?

I reckon the Brecon Beacons and high ground of Wales will see something, nothing but rain for our part of the world

Never write off a rogue shower in this sort of setup! :)

Partly cloudy with heavy showers around. Quite a nasty hail shower during the night. Temp 7C and wind WNW 30mph gusting 50. Wind will be the main problem this morning with gusts around 60mph expected in Cornwall.

On bus going into Bristol centre - M32 - massive wintry squall and thunder & lightning. First sign of snow in the showers this winter....erm, Spring!

Lots of beefy hailstorms moving through since the early hours, the ground went white quite quickly in the last one. It's now currently slushing. 03.4C

Morning, what a vile morning it is. It's rather windy out there, the sky's a few shades darker than battleship grey and we've just had a really heavy sleet shower. Guessing this is set to continue for much of the day?
