Quite the opposite here. I've seen stronger winds when no warning has been issued. 43mph is the max at Bournemouth airport.

Quite the argument for stopping the naming of storms and responding to and respecting what you have got. People need to get back to looking at the sky, feeling the air and watching the rain!

Rather amusing that we've had stronger wind gusts today from this unnamed storm than the last two named ones!

Same here but other places had much stronger winds then which gave it storm status I guess. It's been a wild afternoon with the last hour being particularly noisy. A couple of gusts possibly mid 50s- sustained wind speeds 30+ for last 3/4 hours. Seems to be dying back a little now. Occassional peppery shower, but it's been the wind that's been notable. And more of the same Monday. Oh joy!

Edit..just had a 60!

Got to 26mm for the day now, wind eased off a little.

Streams quite high and river out onto parts of the floodplain now, though not too major.

Intense squall/line segment went slightly east of here up the Axe valley (they never seem to hit here full on for some reason).

Never particularly heavy apart from short bursts here, highest fall in 1 hour was only 3.3mm today.

Weather gone from grim to utterly hideous. Just had a squall with winds on a par with last big storm here in 2014. Of course my daughter would want collecting in it and require negotiating country roads with bendy trees. Last time she wanted a lift was that Valentines storm and that was seriously scary. Winds 32mph and I'd say gusts in excess of 50 but regular now. Seems never ending. can we christen Imogen yet?

The A37 & A39 out of Bristol are bad at the best of times.  I'd imagine out to Whitchurch at least is crawling.

I'd recommend your collection catches a local train from Temple Meads to say, Yatton or Worle and collect there, the drive would definitely be quicker.

Bristol & Cars are currently in civil war, thanks to a certain mayor.

Netweather forecast give me 80% chance of snow tuesday!! :shok: all 12cm too!

It won't happen though even at only 3 days out.

Meto app gives me sleet and snow too for Tuesday :nonono:

I'm going to Dawlish for the week tomorrow for a mini break.

I'm eagerly planning a day to drive up to the highest part of Dartmoor to see the exclusive white stuff.  I think Tuesday could be the day.  It's forecast for sleet in Dawlish  which is sea level on the coast so looking good up on Dartmoor in a cold north westerly flow.

These forecasts you know will vanish by the next day though. every single chance we have had this winter has failed including two meto office warnings so far.

It just won't happen.

After checking again it shows a possible 19cm!

Portreath, Cornwall is under a Severe Flood Warning.

Crazy rain here on Dartmoor. Minor river at Magpie Bridge has burst it's banks and rivers surrounding Tavistock are the highest I've ever seen them and still plenty coming off the hills.

Drove to Princetown earlier as if dartmoor is bleeding water. Never seen the hills just full of flowing water.

32mm of rain today - wettest day since August 23rd last year, and wettest day of the winter. Amazing stuff for February! Just need another 10 or so mm and we will have breached my February average!

I made it... But only just. Nearly got it stuck after Pensford Hill! Was a few stressful moments.. Blimey! Had to go around some poor lady stuck in a corsa, then a bus tidal waved my car.. But I finally made it. Came back via the A4. I need wine.
