Parked up Runcorn castle. Highest point in Runcorn at ABOUT 120m. 100% snow up here. Starting to cover cars

I knew it would happen , it always does , we can't defend a lead,I saw the game on the computer we should have won that comfortably,we switched off at 0-2 again

That's martinez for ya, clueless on tactics, not a fan of him. Had season tkt over 20 years and just don't like him. 11th with best squad in 30 yrs ain't good enough.

Bloody hell. I really didn't expect this! I thought today was just going to be the band of snow earlier on this evening followed by maybe one or two light sleet/snow showers. Now it seems were setting up quite a heavy streamer across the southern half of the region.

More snow has fell here in the last hour or so, than the rest of this evening. It's pretty ridiculous to think that nobody saw this coming.

Indeed. We've had quite a bit Scott, it wasn't looking like this 90 mins ago.

Been snowing for 6 hrs. Amassed a massive 2cm at best. image.thumb.jpg.86aa088f6a657a622099f692

If it had just been 3 degrees colder the snizzle would have been proper snow and a good 5-7 cm could have accumulated.

Strange I'm almost a mile between Medlock Valley and Failsworth it's still very light snow here.  Must be a micro-climate-shadow-shield.... or something

For some strange reason here in west Oldham borough has copped it so far.

well my fun an games has lasted a bit longer than expected but considering its been virtually non stop snow since around 2ish, its kinda a missed opportunity of only having 2CM's at the very most but that is what happens when it comes during the middle of the day and ground/air temps just not quite cold enough.

Conversely, its better than nothing but I did wish this occurred overnight like it originally was predicted.

But the forecast in the last 2 days has predicted this, yes the track may not be 100% accurate but with such an unusual set up of a waving weather front with high pressure more or less near by then its not the easiest weather event to predict on how it will turn out.

Yes it does appear heavier to the south east, I'll let Manchester pass it's 8 miles away, but I walk the dogs in Medlock Valley (Daisy Nook, Park Bridge area)... I could be down there in 30 minutes lol  Still good for you, and I've still got a covering here, so hopefully the temperature drop will keep in place for walking tomorrow

I wouldn't rule out heavy showers coming in from the Irish Sea here. When? Maybe in the early hours?

Just east of you and it's moderate here, but nothing special. Possibly heavier in 5 mins or so.

Here's the unfortunate gap in the heavy precipitation. There has been bits and pieces of heavyish stuff passing through though
