We've had just about everything so far: rain, rain+snow, rain+graupel, graupel+sleet and graupel+snow - so who knows? :D

Been walking round town for a few hours, its getting dark, nothing falling from skies, not optimistic for tonight as despite all the people wrapped up in furs, it is MILD outside.

Grotty, chilly day here with a few light hail showers. Not pleasant outside at all but had a lovely Mother's Day lunch :)

Looks to me like there are 2 "disturbances" causing showers and ppn. The first in a line from Norwich straight across the country south is one.

The second further north more "compact" area of ppn sitting just of the east coast further north.

I think this area further north is to do with a trough sliding south. As it does so, areas to the east MAY catch it.

Further West, well looked at the models and it has it much further inland (the ppn) but I don't buy it.

For areas further East I think a covering is possible. Not to much to ask for after this atrocious "winter"

Had sleet and soft hail amongst the rain shower around 4.15- 4.30pm at sea level in Gravesend, my bbc app says sleet in the early hours I notice Meopham in the sticks has light snow symbols for 2 hours, and some of medway too- it will probably dissappear like usual

Veering to a more direct northerly with a colder injection of air no marginality there also there is a little disturbance running down the North Sea could give extreme eastern counties like Norfolk, more in the way of snowfall rather than blink and you miss it snow shower, lucky spots getting 1-3cm.

The wind should back northerly as the evening progresses so showers should continue to feed in off the north sea. The good news is the radar is reporting snow out to sea so it is certainly cold enough, though showers will tend to vary in term of precipitation with a mix of soft hail/snow looking likely. Hopefully those in the north and east of the region could get a dusting tonight.

I went out to a pub out in the stick this afternoon for a work do, there was a very heavy hail shower which lasted a good half an hour or so. Plenty of convection today which is nice to see.
