Just checked my sensor and we didn't even reach double figures here, maximum of 9.5c.

Looking at the forecast it probably won't drop much lower overnight.

A repeat of yesterday. Cold, damp and overcast. 10C at midday on a late May day, bloody ridiculous.  Liverpool ATIS reporting 11C dp 10C  with light showers.

Quick question .... how unusual is this pattern of LP moving E to W.

As expected yesterday the rainfall for this part of the NW was downgraded throughout the day and we eventually got a little rain around 7.30 last night didn't amount to much before it stopped a few hrs later, same again today with just a few spots of rain here and there. I see from the forecast there is the chance of another low heading across the North sea next week too.

Seems strange watching the rain die out over the tops coming from the "wrong" direction and us being stuck under the rain shadow for a change.

Unusual but by no means unprecedented: it happened in summer 1976 and '77 and also in winters 1986 and '87...to name but four. It's very good, sunshine-wise, for Scotland and the western side of England/Wales.:D

Hoped for an improvement in conditions today over Wednesday but other than the occasional dry few minutes, it's been another day of irritating cloud, drizzle and unseasonal cool conditions.

never mind, there's always tomorrow.

Thought today was going to be yet another cold, dank cloudfest like we've had throughout this spring, but I was agreeably surprised to see the sun come out around 2pm. Was able to catch some rays in the back garden without shivering for a change.  Last night was unseasonally cold at 8.6C, however the max in my sheltered garden was 22C, Liverpool ATIS reported 18C at 3pm, currently 16C here.  Pressure 998mb, calm F0-1, seems to have partially clouded over at 4/8. No precipitation.

A mixed day with some  sunny intervals, especially in the afternoon. Min overnight  10.9°C

max today  19.7°C

currently  15.4°C

 Pressure 1017 mb?

A lovely start and decent forecast so it looks like it's a gardening day for me.

Yes very nice day.  Maybe this summer will be an oddity - Northern Europe enjoying the best weather, while central and southern parts have a poor one by their standards.  It's lashing it down in Spain.  I'm sure we'll get back to the cloud and rain before too long.

Always seems so difficult to get a mostly sunny day - I've noticed the suns strength at this time of year bubbles the clouds up from 10am onwards - no doubt in about an hour or two the sun will be back out again as the UV wanes.

Not a bad day for a change, however it must be borne in mind that meteorological summer begins on Wednesday so not before time.  Last night was still cold for the end of May: min 9.1C. Max today was 23C in a sheltered south-facing garden. Currently 15.7C and falling.  Found my weather station had defaulted to -50m ASL, so corrected to +60m ASL and now reading 1012mb.  Sunny intervals but Cu built up enough during the afternoon to lead me to believe we were in for a shower.  Currently quite cloudy, a good 7/8. Breezy this morning but currently light air F1.  No precipitation. This evening was mild enough for barbecues.

A proper early summer day despite a chilly night (min 9.4C).  Longer sunny intervals than yesterday with corresponding reduction of cloud.  Max 22.8C (sheltered) currently 17.6C at pretty well 9pm.  Quite clear, very small amount of what appears to be Sc, coverage less than 1/8.  Pressure 1013mb.  Looking at the smoke from a neighbour's BBQ rising vertically, dead calm F0.  Plenty of opportunity for topless sunbathing this afternoon with the sun having quite a bit of power.  Dry all day.

A cloudy, misty start but the sun is starting to come through now so hopefully another decent day is on the cards.

we reached 21.5c here yesterday and with barely a breath of wind and little in the way of cloud it was as good a day as we've had so far this year.

West is Best.

At least it will be until the Atlantic wakes up.

Hopefully it'll wait until about October and then sod off again in December to let the Easterlies back in.

Another nice day, looks like the weather gods didn't realise this was a bank holiday!. Day dawned clear but varying amounts of cloud during the day, almost overcast for much of the afternoon with nearly 8/8 Cu.  Breezy at times particularly in the morning but currently light air F0-1.  Overnight min 9.7C, max 22.3C, also measured 21C at Pickmere (Cheshire) early afternoon. Currently 16.0C.  Pressure 1018mb.  Currently clear with some Sc and St, no more than 2/8.

Water temp. in Pickmere itself 19C which is about right for the time of year.

A nice day and only the second day to reach the 20°C mark this week. Max  20.3°C.

Cloudy first thing this morning and although it soon turned into a lovely sunny day, it ended up slightly cooler than yesterday but at 20c, still very pleasant.

I can't remember the last time we had a full bank holiday weekend of dry sunny warm weather but the last few years have been mixed at best.

Late Summer Bank Holiday 1989?  I remember it well, ironically the Monday afternoon was spent at Pickmere, Cheshire, just like this Bank Holiday Monday.

Looking like another lengthy dry period for the Lake District following on from the dry spell earlier in May - turning into a very dry period overall, makes a sense given all the rain we had last winter - mother nature once again balancing herself out, time and time again this seems to happen. Great week for those on holiday - perfect timing. We look like missing the rain tomorrow, and the rest of the week promises fine warm conditions. Early next week looking very warm for some, before the signs of the atlantic breaking through.
