A chap who has a weather station linked on Wunderground. He's about half a mile away, about the same height (we're less than 10mtrs higher so can't see it matters), same topography so I figure it's fairly accurate for here.

Now -2.4c :cold: No wonder our deck is rather slippery.

Good find!

Ive just got back from a run and we were nearly like bambi on ice at one point as we passed the local car wash... luckily I noticed the ice before we had an accident

Once I have registered my weather station On wunderground, how long should it take to see the data online?

Thanks

Within a day I think or even an hour?

Wunderground are at the center of major problems at the moment, and seem to be doing nothing about it. It maybe a few hours, or it may be 24 hours or more. There's no graph data before September 29th showing for anybody - years worth of data has vanished! The view count has stopped working too, it's been going on for months, and no one gets replies from the support either, when sending emails.

That's all the hallmarks of a sinking ship, company in trouble perhaps.

what other options are there out there for weather station hosting?

What station do you have? Are you using software to get your data to Wunderground? If you can connect the station to a computer, you have many options!

It's an Oregon WMR88

Yes I'm going to run it on a thin client, the software is running on my laptop at the moment, so not ideal.

My crappy weather station is slowly giving up the ghost. So in the next month I'll be looking out for a new one. Can anyone recommend a station. Must have the usual Temps, humidity, pressure, but also dew point rainfall wind speed and direction. Also  connectivity to software would be grand have been using culmilus. Cheers all.

That's good news, the WMR88 works with Cumulus - it should work with the latest Cumulus MX software.

CMX opens up through command prompt, and then it opens via a websocket in your browser - very easy to use, and sits quietly on your desktop. CMX will allow you to send data to the MetO's WoW site, Wunderground, PWS, Awekas, Weathercloud etc..

http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/view?siteID=839814

https://app.weathercloud.net/d0156999522#profile

http://www.awekas.at/en/instrument.php?id=7934

http://www.pwsweather.com/obs/WAREHAM.html

..and if you get cheap hosting, you can use CMX's inbuilt template to create a website for your data. CMX runs on Windows/Macs, different PI's - it's very versatile.

Good lord, that level of cold going into Italy and Greece is just a plain kick in the teeth for us.

Where did it all go sooooo wrong?

I'm not sure that it has gone wrong.. I'm remaining positive that the middle of the month will turn it for us. Here's hoping :pardon:

My frost season is 59 days in (started November 3rd) and i've managed 12 air frosts in that time - that's actually pretty darnn good for this location.

I agree - i await the middle of w/c 9 Jan. Friday the 13th can be a superstitions nightmare day, however it been touted for a few days of being OK for us. Thats the 10 day cr#p though - let's see what this run holds as its out to about 9 Jan so far.

My husband is running his first ultra marathon that weekend... really would prefer it holds off until Saturday evening if it's going to do anything!!

At this rate he'll need thin running gear - possibly sun cream

Edit : 174h looks like a cool westerly, scrap the sun cream
