Evening all, haven't got a reliable thermometer so had a look on Wunderground, the nearest station to here (roughly half a mile & same height) is reporting 0.3c.with a dew point of -2.4c.  Sodding typical, now it's cold enough, it's dry. Harrumph!

Yes we have a frost inbound which could be interesting with all that surface water about.. :help:

Agreed, especially as there's more chance of waking to 10ft snow drifts than seeing a gritter lorry around here, they never venture down the lanes.

Sleet didn't settle :drunk-emoji:

No warnings out for ice which seems odd to me.

Mornin all, currently 0.7°C , with 11mm rain from last night measured. Wind is in from the north so has a good bite with it.

Cold this morning, slight frost, bitter NE wind.
Wind has died down and only 7mph. It picked up to 15--18mph yesterday with some 25-30mph gusts yesterday afternoon.
Did not have quite the amount of rain I though was predicted, just 6.6mm in total, with a quick heavy spell between 9pm and 11pm after the 4mm yesterday afternoon and the drizzle yesetrday morning.

Was 5.1c at midnight and 2.6c at 8am
Now 2.8c, 1028.2 hPa,

Courtesy of my newly found weather geek (with a weather station) just down the road, I can now give a more accurate report than just my 'shiver' thermometer....it's currently 1.1c and we got down to -2c overnight. It's a beautiful sunny day with a good frost :D

I'm going to service my weather station and put it back up today, been out of action since last winter. It's not the same without it. (Winter)

Min of 1C this morning.

Cracking day out there, so we're off to Studland for the day.

Watch out for that biting breeze down there..

15.8mm of rain yesterday. :O
Got down to 1.2°C this morning.
Nice and sunny today - didn't get any of the strong winds that were showing by the MetO.

Temp: 5.2°C - Hum: 83% - Dew: 2.5°C - Bar: 1030.21hPa - Wind: NE ~ NNE @ 7mph.

MetO going for -2°C here, you can usually go another degree or two below their prediction.

I will quite happily settle for this weather until it gets its act in gear and winter proper arrives. Frosty, sunny and cold is the next best thing to snow in my opinion.

Cold day today and seems to have peaked at 1.2c after overnight low of -1c

One thing we have had a lot more this season is frost so at least ground is colder for all that snow when it comes.. :D

A high of 3.8c it's now on the slide,  past a gritter on the way home which took a layer of paint work off the car, out spreading early!

After the minor melting of ice and icicles (first time in many a year), probably a repeat for the morning. There's still ice on the grass here.

Can someone confirm to me if the UK cold is 10 days away please? :)

Edit : no idea why my text goes on as 2 different sizes.:cc_confused:

The temperature is dropping away quickly now - likely to be at freezing by 6pm.  I've got my favourite orangey-blue hue on the horizon again. :)

@karlos1983 Pressure is very stable at the moment, 1030 mb/hPa is what I would adjust it to.

Whoa at least 240hrs away, or more depending on who you read in the MOD thread...:hi:

Wait patiently for the UKMO, it'll be less than 240 hours out, so you might have to rush out and get your supplies in..

So only semi-reliable now as opposed to near certainty?

I would hesitate to be in any way definitive as I'm not aware of the source for your original quote.:)
