Mornin all, a damp start this morning, and the encroaching front appears to have slowed its southward movement compared to yesterdays forecast. Now waiting for a damp day to begin. Currently 7.5°C

Happy New year everyone - I have a hangover of epic proportions and had to read back through the thread to make sure I didn't post anything stupid in the early hours.. as I'm inclined to do on social media  :sorry:... looks like I'm okay for once!!

Still first thing i did was check rain for hints of sleet an look at forecast for chance of back edge snow... unlikely :lazy:

I'm not leaving my bed today. All I can hear is the rain falling which is depressing on top of my epic hangover. 

Someone on twitter mentioned possibility of wet snow later on higher ground still...? Do we believe it...? Erm no :sorry:

Temperature peaked half hour ago at 6.8c now falling. 6.4c so we shall wait and see. :hi:

Temp is dropping away here, currently 5.1c after 7.7c at 10:12am

Looking at the radar, the front is turning to sleet on it's back edge over Wales.... I wonder......

Interestingly it's already showing signs of back edge interest. So let's see how this goes. Intensity and timing crucial I think.

Nice to see it's getting colder elsewhere as well. It was 8.2c when the rain started 2 hours ago and has fallen to 5.7c so far.

Gut feeling is it will not drop far enough before the precipitation clears but happy to be proved wrong later.

Dartmoor a bit too warm at the moment just wet.. might look interesting a little later though. Temp has jumped off a cliff though
