Note ECM t240 posts in the MOD. I'm sure on Dec 15 I posted about these phantom day 10 charts. So on Xmas day it should have been cold.

Bizarre really as no one posts t72 charts showing those mammoth cold synoptics.

Never ever verifies, its all a game.

Fortunately From a cyclic perspective we have "only" 6 more t240 charts to endure before spring (think about it!) :yahoo:

Good morning all, a proper frost this morning for the commute, crystal clear skies with a carpet of sparkling stars, sunrise was stunning.

Another moderate frost here. Don't think the ground has thawed out since the 27th. Very festive looking though. Overnight lows last four nights between -3.3 c and -5.8 c with frost remaining in sheltered spots during the day.

The forecasts have been well off the mark in terms of low temperatures for here, over the last few mornings. It got down to -2.6°C  this morning, only got above zero at 10am - a  proper hard frost. That's three air frosts in a row now, taking the tally to ten this side of the new year - more than the last 5 years.

Temp: 6.2°C - Hum: 92% - Dew: 4.9°C - Bar: 1036.17hPa - Wind: Calm.

No but I can see building blocks coming together as anticipated for the week commencing 14th of January.. :wallbash:

Very frosty outside again today with all frost on pavements and roads still in place. Shame it will finally melt tonight with cloud rolling in.

You really can't make it up! The three heaviest snowiest periods for west country in last 10 years I have managed to miss each and everyone, Came back to the snow on ground but never saw it fall.

This year I booked holiday later in January because of the front loaded forecast so I wouldn't miss it and its potentially switched around. :nonono:

Take some photo's for me.. :cray:

Much colder here than has been forecast. Was meant to be 5 or 6 degrees currently down to 1c. We've missed out on a lot of frosts so far this winter. Hoping January delivers.

Temperature reached 10.4°C but dropped quickly after sunset, rapidly heading towards another air frost. Currently 0.9°C.

Hovering around 1°C at the moment, thick frost on everything, including paths/pavements -  they're glistening in the light. There's also thick fog, no warnings though? Not sure how widespread it is?

Hi khodds

As always, touch and go and plenty to change in the meantime, but I've seen snow in worse

I suspect the ppn might be very light by this stage, though, but worth keeping an eye on.

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics
