Least favourite weather type today, dank, gloomy, dreary, etc. At least it's not windy.

Agree, what a pile of damp dank :(

Just hope this isn't going to last for weeks on end. Winter so far has been really quite nice here, more sunny high pressure please :)

Yeah, we certainly don't want this current pattern in the lead up and during Christmas weekend, If so I feel fog could become areal issue to those travelling over the Festive Period.

Now this is a question,

if the months mean is ave to above ave, but almost all the rain fell in 2 days, stats show the figures as above, but your feel is a dry month.

Shouldn't this be classed as a dry month from a feel prospective, when you look at stats on weather I feel they are very much ruined/skewed  by this type of problem and often it doesnt give the true happenings of the month.
I think this autumn and winter so far is one of the driest for a long time.

You make a very good point seaside. A couple of days of heavy rain mask the fact that for most of the remainder of the month it was drier than normally expected for November. As a British Prime Minister once said, "there are lies, damned lies and statistics"!

And as the Captain points out above, apart from some nuisance rain in the next couple of days, the forecasts suggest December will likely see below average rainfall. Meanwhile you have to laugh at today's GFS (Grinch Forecasting System) 06z run which shows the next appreciable rain falling on....... Christmas Day!! :nonono:

Although still 11 days until the solstice, we're only a week away from the slow march to lighter evenings when civil twilight starts to end later. A day later sunset proper moves from 15:51 to 15:52! (here) It's a start!

One party down, bubs is at her second party of the day. Thankfully it was only spitting this morning but now it's pouring and dark and yuck. Coldest place at the moment was the soft plays toilet.

Crikey its quiet in here today........Is everyone at the Beach?

Actually I was, but then again since moving down here last year I make a point of going down to the seafront at least once a day, every day, whatever the weather.:)

Been raining most of the afternoon, still rainng but a bit of a chill in the air.

As per the forecast a bit of sun tomorrow will be a relief and a good opportunity to clean off the cars as the grime on the roads has been quite bad.

The sun is out today and it is a little on the chilly side. I am down in south Essex again, the temperature to start the day was 4C.

A couple of very nice charts this morning but in FI however in a more positive nature if it's cold your after.

The GFS 0z even has a tiny band of snow across the S 21st/22nd.

Current conditions: Clear and Sunny.... Glorious Winter Day IMO.

Nice sunny day, felt warmer this morning than this afternoon, and the sun set was a beautiful one here too, mixed with some high cloud to give some nice colours.

Quite thick fog to start Monday morning with visibility down to approx 150m. Chilly too at 2.7C. In the last hour it's thinned and there's now some blue sky showing through, so hopefully a little bit of sunshine before outbreaks of light rain arrive later.

Not seen proper rain for a ages now. Just had a bit of light drizzle over the weekend, but no proper autumn/winter rain yet.
