Some heavy squally Snaw showers here this morning, giving us oor first covering for winter 16/17!

White Boxing Day here too. Was so warm last night I had to open the windows. Woke up freezing lol

Snowing here in perth, but only settling at higher ground from what I can see. My folks have a couple of inches in Kingussie and are enroute to me today, so away to check the traffic cams to see whats what at Drumochter.

We had some snow here, I was worried what would happen - but I tweeted about it anyway, and it promptly stopped. Sky is now bright and I'm almost sure I can see bits of blue sky.

It is decidedly green up here. The only white I can see is on the white horses playfully gambolling around out on the loch! Oh look! It's started to rain again!

Snow is back on. According to met o we're supposed to have heavy rain all day.

We currently have the odd flake falling every now and then out of a bright blue sky with sunshine.....

Wee drive up to Dalnahaitnach at the head of the Dulnain Valley. Really nice and calm / crisp / sunny until a squall comes through; in minutes it's high winds and blizzard conditions. 

Nokians get the thumbs up for their first proper snow test.

EDIT just added a photo of Carrbridge village. Really coming down at the moment. Van had slid off the road on the way to Aviemore.

Awoke to a slushy dusting of the white stuff here this morning and intermittent wintry (horizontal) showers still blawin through, so technically a White Boxing Day. 

Currently, 2.9C/3C after an overnight low of 1.2C.

From the models, looks like we're going into the freezer from New Year onwards. At last.

Just back from a cracking walk at Harlaw in the Pentlands with the kids. Not a huge amount of lying snow but enough for a few small snowmen and a snowball fight or two. Couple of really heavy snow showers while we were up as well. Great way to spend Boxing Day morning

A slight dusting on the grass this morning but didn't last long. Showers seem to have passed now and the sun is out. Wind really blowing. It seems much more gusty now than at any point when we had the yellow warning over the last few days. Enough to bring a tree down up the road.

Hard to judge as it's so blowy, but about 10-12cms cover so far. Snowed all morning, with some white out conditions and a few of the local routes filling in. Currently heavy snow but should ease off in to the afternoon
