Heavy snow just started here now. Big 50p size flakes. Nice to see. Grass and cars starting to cover. Didn’t expect this after the heavy rain first thing this morning.

Well that was unexpected!

I thought it was all staying South of the M62 but it has pushed much further North!

Good to see wet Atlantic snow falling in huge clumps!....

Now we'll see how the flood defences stand up to tomorrows rains (& melt from the tops?)........fingers crossed!

Front decayed and then rebuit as it passed us a theme that happens far too often hence light sleet

I hope so, we’re stopping the night at Sowerby Bridge and home again tomorrow and apart from Blackstone Edge, it’s Calder Valley or the long way via the M62.

Heavy rain in Barnsley, with maybe the odd snow flake mixed in.  All went a bit far North for my area, although suspect slightly higher ground will be seeing snow.  Anyone out Penistone way on here?

Heavy snow in Harrogate - huge flakes.  We've gone form nothing to a couple of centimetres in about half an hour.

Brilliant evaporative cooling here today. A couple of cm in half HR or so with some flakes a good couple of inches diameter.

Big flakes generally mean very marginal conditions...

This is the general rule but it's not always the case. There are some other factors such as the origin of the front, wind direction etc.

Sleet here, just a bit too warm as usual.

2.9C with a dewpoint of 1.1C.

Edit: a few very large flakes now but extremely wet.
