Looking touch and go for my location tomorrow, might manged a couple of cm's if I'm lucky.

On plus side its snowing here currently and stating to lay, radar seems to be pepping up with some light streamers coming off the North Sea.

Cheers that puts me a little more at ease. Sounds like you know ya stuff about your locality in certain weather scenarios, can't beat local knowledge!

Found this chart, it's from. This morning but it illustrates the point I was making, the accumulation totals really only drop off dramatically to the east of the A1, just west of Tadcaster, also note lower amounts through the Aire valley at Castleford to our south! Could contain: Home Decor, Person

Anyone in the Chesterfield area? Looks like the snow has just about reached the area. Perhaps Sheffield in with a shout too! Light flurries in Leeds now but with temp of 0.1c everything is now sticking. Let's see if the showers fizzle out by the time they hit Leeds

Looking quite active over east coast at moment.. some beefy showers moving in... wonder if they will have any legs on them to penetrate quite a way inland

Look at the main band approaching Sheffield, these showers you talk about to the north could feed off that energy and maybe give us a surprise. Certainly, one to watch.

Ye anything could happen from now, wouldn't be surprised if a few lucky areas got 2/3 cm tonight. Would be nice to have a little base before tomorrow's snow.

Temp -0.4c and snowing lightly , getting a bit heavier.  Has started settled on the cars, grass and roofs,  but not pavements or roads.  Most snow we have had all winter.

Still pushing northward I see. Is the milder pushing northward as well still or is the cold air undercutting it?

Beginning to settle again after a thaw late afternoon.

Current obs temps and dew points,...safe to say that anything falling from the sky  midlands northwards would all be snow

If we get a base from this band then tomorrow's snow will accumulate so quick!

Light snow now. Band of precipitation seems to be strengthening over Leeds and Bradford. Showers also making inroads. Temp -0.1c. Perhaps a good dusting before tomorrow!

Nice looking radar, ligh blues turning darker blue to hints of green. The dry slot that appeared from Humber to Manchester rapidly closing now . What's going on ?
