Weak storm here now and only brief heavy rain which has already stopped.

Was hoping for much better given the forecast 🥺

Likewise and no drop of rain either. The band to the south is fragmenting somewhat too so that may well be all for us storm wise though I'd welcome at least some rain.

Yeah I'm thinking same, maybe a few rumbles later but mostly looks like rain.

We certainly need that 🙂

I think i'm too far east given the direction the storms are going. Bradford looks to be in a good place though!

Biblical rain rates here and some decent flashes of lightning now, having previously been obscured. Seems there's a link forming between this originally discrete cell and the main band just to the south, so more rain and thunder to come here methinks.

Brother in Clay Cross reporting nice strikes still from the main band.

edit: it's also worth keeping one eye on the cells even further south of the main band in case they turn elevated later. A nighttime coda would be nice 😉 🌩️

It's all going to merge over/to our north.

Very heavy rain here again now but no activity on it, odd clap of thunder.

Slightly tame that storm compared to the beast that woke me up at around 4:20am this morning!

Looks like there isn't much left to come here either

Finally some heavy rain in Bridlington and the sound it makes as night falls has been wonderful.

Torrential for a time also but eased off now.

Perfect timing to give the gardens and land a good watering before the sun is back up about 04.30.

@Wold Topper and @matt brid

Same here, some very heavy bursts of rain, but no thunderstorms. I think there must have been something just out of eye/earshot however as we had a power cut at about 7.50pm last night, fortunately the Cricket highlights had almost finished otherwise I would have been very, think of a stonger word than upset☹️.

First rain here since early May (6th I think)

Very humid and sticky on my early walk before work. I think temp/humidity combo is going to be well past my comfort level today, however that comfort level is quite low...

Finally some decent warmth on the Yorkshire coast and it has crept up to about 23c this afternoon which is spot on what we are looking for approaching July.

Sea temperature rising too after a cold April and May.

Let's hope for some decent weather going forward into July and plenty of sunshine + a few heavy showers and thunderstorms also.

Have a great day people 😎

I gave you an insightful rather than a like as it was too warm for me, my comfort zone really ends at about 20 or 21c, but I am the original heat hater. LBrunchtime ride wasn't actually too bad, it was during the afternoon temperatures crept up, thats why I was early out on my bike. Temps 20c, Wind was SW force 3-4. First time we have had westerlies for some weeks. Broken cloud.

Today is much cloudier, with rain incoming by the looks of things

The authorities are talking of a 'marine heat wave' in the North Sea, particularly around Durham, with temperatures 4C above average. Will this have an effect on, for example, sea frets on the East coast, the sea being much warmer than usual at this time of year? I can't say I'm persuaded to take a dip at Saltburn or Whitby!

Well some moderate to heavy rainfall in Bridlington this morning just for a change and everything is starting to look lush once more after a 5 to 6 week dry spell.

A lovely deluge on Sunday night which was badly needed and now a decent top up this morning - really has broken the long dry spell thankfully !

Could be one or two very heavy thunderstorms this afternoon behind this main rain area but equally skies should be brightening from midday.

Have a great day people and enjoy the thunderstorms this afternoon and sunshine of course 😎

Absolute deluge just now for 5 mins - monsoonal style rainfall on the back edge of the rainfall area.

Everything looks so lush now and a sweet smell in the air.

After a wet morning I delayed my lunch ride until 1.30 after rain had stopped. Temps about 16c and wind has picked up to a stiff easterly breeze force 4 . Skies clearing with hazy sunshine. Rain this morning was the right sort, not too heavy and had time to soak in. You can almost hear the grass growing now, will need to get the mower out by the weekend.

It's decaying and moving east at the same time but we should see a short spell of heavy rain .

Cooler today, yesterday was too hot, 24c yesterday afternoon, which is 3c beyond my happiness zone. Lunchtime the wind was N Force 3, temperatures 20c with almost 100% sunshine. There were clouds to the SW showing some vertical development.
