If anything it shows there is a signal in the models of showers working there way inland.

Car thermometer was amusing showing three degrees when it was -0.8C.

Looking at the high res models a fair few places could wake up to a dusting of snow. Perhaps the odd localised 1-2cm in places, not just restricted to coastal areas either, West/South Yorkshire as well. Uppers around -9 so marginality shouldn't be an issue.

Its this cluster pushing south, somewhere like York could do quite well from it but we'll see.

The back end of that cluster is the wind veering NE that I was talking about and it looks like streamers might be intitiating over the Borders and Northumberland. They would carry snow a little further from the coast as tey work down so snow for the Dales and West Yorkshire looks possible overnight, besides all the rest of the Northeast. I also note its about 3C colder than this time yesterday evening and we got to -2.5C here, so that's plenty of cold to go at.

Nothing getting past the wolds or north York moors again 🙄😢

It's too early. There's a chance for more activity around midnight and a possibility some showers to reach further inland.

I wonder if they'll get this far inland.

Funny they update the warning and reduce the snow on the forecast.

The heavier stuff, if it maintains intensity, should hit somewhere just south of Leeds to Sheffield. Though all look to be in shot of a dusting

Hopefully it does. Paul Hudson only seemed to think there would be anything in the east of the region on look north earlier...

Front edge just passed through York and it's sleet to begin with. The temperature has risen from -0.4C to +1.0C.  This suggests rain for Leeds but snow for Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield and Sheffield where it's a little higher and currently about 2C colder. It could easily turn to snow here if it just drops 0.5C.
