Looks like several more hours for the Yorkshire Dales area etc. The system just doesn't move; crazy how forecasts are so wrong even on the same day.

Just rain here outside of Hull its even snowing in Blackpool though not settling dunno what we have to do these days to get  decent snow here. Some fantastic pics in here though well done to people who have got some of the white stuff.

It’s been a poor cold spell for our neck of the woods hasn’t it? Tiniest sprinkle of snow on Christmas morning and just rain since

Yes very poor not suprised tbh though enjoyed the cold frosty nights for an change. But for majority of low lying places within 20 to 30 miles off coast being an bust. Not just us though places like Aberdeen havent had any decent snowfall for years either.

Surprised how it's kept the intensity up. It was supposed to have moved South and died by now but the radar has shown it continually renewing from the north sea all day!

So can anyone with more technical knowledge than me explain why this front hasn't moved south as modelled. What's kept it there all day? I'm kinda self teaching myself meteorology so any input much appreciated

Looks like it's edging a bit back north now some drizzle building on the southern edge for us to enjoy in Sheffield by the looks of it

Some more organised stuff coming in now to east of us now should be in chance for a few cm furthest south its been all day! Looks like its merging with the other front to north!

P!ss poor warnings from the meto as usual.

When it became clear late morning that this was going to be a significant event for certain areas a orange warning should have been released for Harrogate and surrounding areas.

Couldn't agree more, my friend works at the hospital and said there has been numerous crashes and incidents due to the snow in the Harrogate area

Is this another feature spinning up and heading North? More qualified on here may be able to confirm.

The depth of snow in north Leeds, must be a good 4-6 inches of snow judging by the dog In the snow.
