Clear sky and suns out.

Looking like things go a touch milder into next week but some interest end of next week, current trend at +150 gfs shows cold and outside chance of snow again for Midlands (or just rain or nothing )

Then repeat for the rest of the month if GFS is to be believed  To be honest anything past the end of next week is not going to be reliable, lots of swings and uncertainty.

Yes lol. My expectations are not great but the trend is in the right direction, half the fun is the chase down of possible snow fall but yes, not thinking nailed on etc...

I could do with a bit of mild breezy weather atm.

This constant grey and 2-4'c is really horrible and I don't feel inclined to do anything in the garden, and I cannot go to the allotment because someone I have been in contact with, has had Covid, so I still have another 6 days isolation left.

So, even if it did snow, I'd still be stuck here looking out of the window

I can't see anything remotely different to what we've been having the past few weeks, so I might just go back to bed and dream of walking across the River in 1991 in Nuneaton lol

Bit premature to be talking about Spring technically, we're only about a month into Winter! Still the rest of Jan and February left to see some decent snow. There is still all to play for.

Yeah you’re right but the chances of anything are pretty slim they always are

There is definitely potential for a 10 Dec 2017 type event within the next week or so or next weekend

Wintry showers brought in on a north west wind and areas of rain with snow on their northern/eastern edge. Computer models suggesting an area of rain turning wintry as early as Wednesday.

Felt like another world out for my walk this morning. Significantly milder, a decent amount of sunshine, not too much wind. Max 9.0 °C, but it almost seemed like 5 degrees warmer than that given how long it's been cold and grey. Shame it looks like not lasting beyond maybe tomorrow morning.

That dreaded phrase  "Mild" may well be entering the forecast shortly.

The outlook is mild, but only for a few days though, come the end of the week it’s looking cold with the potential for snow ❄️

Residents of the Algerian Sahara and Saudi Arabia's Aseer region have been treated to rare snowfall captured in stunning images showing sand dunes blanketed in white snow and ice.

Flooding looks the main issue to me mods showing alot of rain. Cant see much snow away from Scotland and the mountains. Would love to be in Buxton on Thursday and Friday.

Yep, thats why i rarely read into it unless it looks like a widespread cold spell which has been entrenched across the country. These marginal events often dont work out in our favour, especially as precipitation has to travel far inland often moderates before it reaches us. Unless you're over 200/250m, the bottom line is if it can go wrong, it will wrong. Pessimistic i know, but thats just the way it goes.
