When South East gets forecast snow we get... Rain

When Midlands gets forecast flooding and rain, they get... Snow

I know the feeling, we haven't even had a dusting of snow this winter. I've literally seen a bit of light snow and that's it.

Sunday looks good for the majority of the SE! Up to 10cm in places I'd say.

10cm of rain more like lol

The top gust on the weather station up there is much higher than Langdon bay.

My dad has a station with an anemometer on the roof...will ask him in the morning what his maximum gust was.

If you’re looking for some decent snow videos head over to the north west thread - this is a still from a video posted there. It’s mesmerising ....

To be fair there’s great ones in the Scotland thread and Wales thread too.

One day people will be coming in the SE thread to watch these types of videos...keep the faith

Rain has arrived here now. A real distinct band and there could be some very heavy bursts of rain and strong winds. Interestingly the back edge is showing a wintry mix at the moment.

Tomorrow and Friday luckily look to be fine and sunny, but chilly with a keen NW wind.

possible snow this weekend. Don’t expect much again but the risk is there.

So at T80 we have these from the ECM, GooFuS and I CON Models -

Lets count down the downgrades over the next 3 days and watch how it slips into France or heads north and gives us rain.

Chances of these charts happening around 1% Lol

might be a bit of sleetyness on the back edge for some of the more northern members of our region - air temps and dewpoints are not particularly impressive but intensity and low heights (around 970mb) are really having an effect tonight.

Pffff wet snow. Give me dry powder snow from an Easterly any day. Though sadly that happens once every 30 years
