Bit far out for anything certain, but some models are hinting for something maybe a bit thundery / unsettled remaining days of August, as a trough from the UK sinks down southward. Wouldn't last long if that did happen and likely back to settled / dry conditions soon after.

Thank you! Cyprus next year so hopefully more predictable than Majorca at this time of year.

Highest I can see is Cordoba at 42, which you'd expect.

Cordoba normally gets temps into the low to mid 40's

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) have revealed that they recorded the hottest summer in the Canary Islands this year since records began and predict that autumn will also be warmer than usual.

According to data, the Archipelago experienced a "very warm" or "extremely warm" summer with an average temperature of 23.4°C, which is 1.6°C above the norm for the time of year, making it the hottest summer since 1961 when records in the Canary Islands began.

Iberia coming back with another heatwave, where mid 30s could be seen as we start October.

I can only imagine how surreal it is to experience mid 30s just 11 weeks away from the winter Solstice in Europe.

October record for Spain is 37.6C, 1946 in Seville.

Looks like a new October record for the Canary Islands, previous one maybe 39.0C during mid October 1983 but not exactly sure.

Correction: a 43.2C was recorded during October 2017 in Pajara Fuerteventura.

At least another 7-10 days for the heat to last there. Incredible.

Currently in Majorca where we have had thunderstorms and heavy showers all day. Roads are flooded everywhere

It is similar to a tornado. In October 2007, a cap de fibló caused considerable damage and the loss of one life.

We went to Fuerteventura the first week of October, the same place we went last July. It was hotter than when we went in July. Remarkable heat and humidity, even with periods of Saharan dust diluting the sunlight.

Always wanted to visit the island during October, think it's the best time of the year as the seas are warmest, least windiest, crowds from summer mostly gone and often still quite warm or even hot such as this year. For the surfers, waves on the west coast become larger as swells from distant low pressure systems in the Atlantic become deeper through autumn, and move further south.

Only been twice in December and Easter myself, otherwise just go during July / August mainly.

During the heat I think the humidity goes down as winds turn easterly from the Sahara, at least what I can recall during the mid April 2017, (my first visit, mid 30s when arriving!) and mid August 2021 calima events.

Storm Bernard is currently an extratropical cyclone quite far south in the northern Atlantic, which will bring wet and windy weather to Portugal and parts of western Spain tomorrow.

The remnants of this is expected to bring further rainfall Monday across England, but as it will be weaker by Monday, winds shouldn't be an issue.

The heat has certainly reached the surface today on the Canary Islands. High 20s for areas of Tenerife, with a few spots touching 30C on Fuerteventura, GC and Lanzarote. 27C the max where I am in north west Fuerte. 23C as of 22:30, quite a few degrees above previous days.

A more hazy look to the sky from the afternoon as some Saharan dust filters through, giving way to some nice sunsets.

From AEMET, the warmest airmass during mid November in at least 3 decades and likely record breaking in modern times. The summer of San Martin is certainly a very strong one this year.

Malaga just smashed its previous December temperature record by over 5°C. It's also provisionally recorded the highest temperature on record for December in mainland Spain!

Possibly even exceeded 30°C in the south east.

Warmth is back in the Canary Islands associated with warm air advection from the south due to low pressure over the Azores. Gran Canaria airport reaching 30C which may be a new record following January 2010, and another station with 29.4C. 27C in northern Fuerteventura. Warmth continues for another 5-7 days. Looks like great timing for you @RJBingham
