I pray Feb 2021 doesn't turn into a dry, grey, cold, grotfest like 1986 did... I was sure glad when that month ended!

Take the Amber warning was for ice then certainly was not for snow here.

Absolutely pathetic so far today. Unfortunately it melted quickly after settling so just ended up recycling the snow cover. Ended up having a scattering of white specks with more green than white visible. Not surprised given my sheltered elevation although expected a smidge more considering I’m in the amber zone. Ironically no snowfall now the conditions are more primed for it to settle and will have to rely on my weak luck for a streamer.

I am be pleased for others though that have struggled to get in with the fun for along time and are now covered in the stuff.

preety please weather gods. Push some of that snow from Sevenoaks

Winds become more favourable midnight-1am.

I’d be very happy with that !

I hope so but I'm setting the bar low with regards to hopes.  If only the snow and temperatures had arrived as forecast at 11pm -12pm last night we would have had a decent covering instead of these scraps. Hope the ground freezes up a bit the footpaths are mud baths

I went for a walk around Earlswood lakes - it was like a mud Bath!

South east BBC Weather update -

Amber warning remains for lot of Kent

The headline in the weather, it’s easing off. Light snow to follow but the heaviest is over.

Severe ice and frost. A few more centimetres of snow overnight but easing into tomorrow afternoon. Most dry and cloudy for tomorrow.

I'm not sure about that, some heavy stuff coming toward Kent right now. Do they not read the radar?

If this comes off I will be one happy man, I assume it’s more of a radar situation instead of looking at meto ect ?

Looks a bit similar to this morning? maybe NW Kent/Sussex getting in to the act a bit more, so no Thames Streamer and a ENE wind?

After today and how cold it is. Anything is possible!

Pathetic attempt of a winter here, 2018-19 was better here in terms of snowfall.

That still looks like the winds are staying NE? I thought they were swinging round more ENE?

I’ll be keeping my expectations low to avoid disappointment. Might be able to run up towards Sevenoaks and have a lookie.

I’m just happy my half a cm barely covering anything is now going to freeze, so at least anything else that falls will have a nice firm footing to settle on ❄️

I'm with you on this. Does look increasingly likely though. Don't you just love the UK, too warm to snow but when it gets colder it dries up!

For our latitude it’s the worst possible place for cold

Wind at City Airport has veered 50o Between NE and ENE any streamers will head more towards London, and Surrey and Kent away from the kent coast.. imo.

Looking good for you in an hour or so. I’ll just keep looking at the radar and conceive some logic as to why I am in the middle of two shower trains despite being currently directly down wind from the Wash.

Probably some form of karma

Funnily enough the met office app (yes I know) has us having heavy snow overnight and into tomorrow morning

The fax charts have convergence zones in and around the Wash and I'm wondering if that is what is forming off the coast of North Norfolk.

As the temps drop inland that feature could penetrate further inland.

Of course now that has been signalled by the Met Office app it won't happen

NE’ly staying until tomorrow evening I think. Well that’s what the METO app says. Hardly reliable I know!
