The storm erupted into wonderful long rolls of thunder as well as what I'd call " crackling " thunder as well  aided by the sun .

Thunder stopped for now but raining again and still muggy .

Finally we have the sun breaking through and the temps on the rise, SR-Model suggests 7pm is the best time here in the NW to see any potential sferics so its just a case of hoping the few small showers now beginning to form in the Midlands get enough juicy CAPE ahead of them.

wow, how quick did the cloud disappear, temps rising now, blue sky, might be a bit late in the day to trigger any storms but atleast its a sunny end to the afternoon.

Sun now trying to break through. ⛅????

But I am worried about all of that grey behind it which is moving in. ☁️

Cloud cleared here, but it doesn't feel stormy and is quite windy. Not expecting anything down in Dover anyway

Seems to be something broken with the lightning detectors.

NetWx shows lightning over N Wales, lightningmaps/blitzortung seems to have stopped picking up lightning completely.

Sun is out now! Feels very ripe too. Got my eye on those developments over S/SW Cambs, they should be heading up my way over the next hour.

CAPE is forecast to be 900kj - low 1000s between 17:00 - 20:00 so there's still plenty of time for energy potential, the sun doesn't set until 21:40 after which things was gradually decrease into the late evening.

Facing NE. Looked promising but it’s moving away from my area.

literally just ran out the house five minutes away to a nice vantage point as the storm is not on the south side of the house but instead to the north

incredible skies

really developing by the minute I might do a short timelapse
