It was 2C and raining when I left the house this morning, didn't even notice a dusting on the surrounding hills on my drive to work. Hopefully that'll change later today, but beyond Thursday it's just looking cold and dry, which is fine enough by me at this stage.

Cold, breezy, grey, drizzly this morning. An indoors day.

Gloomy start has given away to blue skies and sunshine here. Always welcome at this time of year with limited daylight, currently 6c/1c.

That wind would cut ye in three! Not that it's strong, just the direction it's from. 🥶 I'm still without central heating, programmer is still with Royal Mail and doesn't seem to have moved since Thursday. Coal situation not good, if I don't get a delivery by Friday, some very kind friends have offered me a couple of bags to tide me over. My faith in human nature has been restored! Got an extra wooly blanket looked out ready to top the bed up with another cosy layer. 😊🔥

Cold and frosty start, out doing a little xmas shopping and all I've managed to buy is a pint of Tennents to refresh before i actually hit the shops..

I see the breakdown or possible slightly milder weather is already causing arguments in the mad house...😂😂

Beautiful cold crisp day here, I can see snow on Ben Vorlich and surrounding hills across the Forth.

Mixed feelings about the coming cold spell as sadly I'm going to be down in Cornwall for a week from Saturday as my poor old mum passed away on Sunday. She had a long, happy and mostly healthy life though and made it to 93. She always loved seeing the snow when she came up to visit, so if the central belt is gifted some white stuff while I'm away I'll look at the photos and dedicate it to mum.

Photo is mum at 87 with some of her friends.

It looks like being cold and foggy rather than cold and snowy in the central belt according to the met. Max 20% chance of precip up until Sunday.

Delivery driver reports having seen slight snow in Jedburgh  a couple of hours ago.  Nothing any closer to me, in fact virtually cloudless.  Still some frost lying on shaded grass.

How often do we get this sort of forecast in the west of Scotland?

Pretty hard frost here last night and lasting well out of the sun. Could be around for a while if these are anything to go by!

Be even nicer if it got covered with snow though.

Bit of snow and cold for Scotland.

Really wintry weather is expected across the UK this week with snow showers and ice for some, and a sharp frost for all.

Aberdeenshire the place to be clearly !

It must be, every time there is weather up there, I get a job in the area. Just got a job in Turriff on Thursday, so expect a foot at least..

Chilly day with showers steadily turning sleetier as the day went on. Absolutely the wrong day to be putting up a new tin roof - my fingers are have just about thawed after an hour beside the fire.

Hopefully things should look nice and white by this time tomorrow.

Drove through a heavy shower on the way home from work which was definitely sleety at worse. Motorhome on the driveway also has what looks like a re-frozen, slumped, sheet of slush on it too, but otherwise the garden & driveway is just wet.

Had a light rain shower here in Nairn about an hour ago - looked promising for snow as the clouds rolled in across the Moray Firth from the Black Isle, but no. Bloody rain.

2c and rain at present.

The Meto have been busy tinkering with their hourly forecasts again.
