Heading for bed but on exterior inspection large flakes starting to fall ,hard frost around minus 4 think it’s likely to be snowy and very icy in the morning. Tomorrows night trip down the A9 may be challenging or least the Highland end.

Just missing out on the warning area here but Coatbridge is in the revised warning area..... @johncam try not to p*sh your frillies we're expecting decent snow reports first thing in the morning

Been a light but wet snow shower here so nothing lying. Ground was dry beforehand now this will just ice up. Not good.

@Ross B @Huntforsnow Only briefly caught the very southern edge of that shower here, and it wasn’t snow. But everything coated in ice and there was a strange tinkling as the rain fell, so possibly a touch of freezing rain.

Really strange setup. You'd imagine this on radar would be producing a good covering of snow 

There's only a few flakes actually getting to the surface, my first thought is some kind of mixed layer must be happening with a quick search could be virga playing a role too 

Why are there echoes on the radar, but no snowfall?

Nice dusting of snow this morning about a half inch or so it’ll look nice for a few days as it’s unlikely to thaw ️

Couple of inches fell before bed last before freezing up. -8c and snowing as I set-off this morning so it’s certainly feeling like proper January out

-3c  on the Ayrshire coast..  will take anyday after dealing with the fallout from Saturday's storms n flooding. Looks bone dry for many of us ..exceptions  Highlands and Islands where snow showers will continue to be the menu of the day.  Anywhere could catch the odd shower but certainly no major disruption other than the favoured spots.. some pleasent usable days ahead.

Actually got colder since getting up. Bottomed out at -5.8.

 Verily, it Snaweth!  Maybe about an inch of the white stuff and it has started to snow again. Oh me of little faith! Glad I washed the car yesterday, today I can spend my time window watching!

No bad at all this morning. Temp -4.0 but feels colder. Looks like it'll be a grand day to be chopping firewood.
